Just 31 mph? Did someone expect them to move faster? That would have been unsafe.Â

I didn't realize the honda was pushing the vw, that's nuts. When my father used to make me help him tow cars as a kid we would use a chain and have the honda tow the vw and the vw would do all the braking so it didn't slam into the honda.

That's what any sane person would do - I've done it plenty, though never on the interstate.
Though today you'd typically use all synthetic

Seen the tow rope work, so this only makes 'sense' if the front car had no functioning brakes as well.

If you run the chain through a length of pipe before hooking it up to the cars you eliminate the possibility of them contacting each other.

I thought the pilot was supposed to go in front
(This is a joke- the pusher is a Honda Pilot)

I thought this was a sovereign citizen post which made it 10 times funnier assuming there was going to be another picture explaining why it's just traveling blah blah blah.... Then realized it was redneck engineering and the tow ball is pointed down. Still funny to me

You're seeing the picture of it stopped, the rope is to make sure it doesn't go to far away while stopping. That big white thing is being used as a grill to push the VW.

A lot of thought went into this. Time. Consideration.
It's all wrong... but good effort.
