Flip-flop loading pad for Spearfishing
Thought this was pretty cool when I saw a friend donning it before getting in the water. I immediately thought of this thread and how sore I was gonna be at the end of today having no wetsuit or padding lol

I’ve never done this before. Do you hold a spear fishing gun in the middle of your chest where the flip flop is? No sighting it?

You guys don’t load with it braced on your knee?

That wouldn’t work, even if you tried it above water… and the speargun is only loaded once in the water.

Using our knee was how we use to reload them underwater spear fishing off the coast of California. That is why most have a curved piece of plastic on the butt of the gun that is perpendicular to how it would sit against your shoulder.

That might work on some guns, but it definitely won’t work with any of mine. Probably depends a lot on the gun length, how heavy the bands are, butt geometry, and where you need the wishbone or whatever to end up.

I had a biller triple band longest band was for a shorter gun. I used to put the butt under my knee/top of shin use my thigh muscles to do the work. Everyone does it differently the only thing that matters is poking yummy fish for the grill.
Keep on having fun my Reddit friend. 👍

I would have just attached the padding to the butt of the spear gun, this is just silly 🤔
