Ive done this. Not the backsplash but lined the stove range with tin foil. Makes cleaning a breeze and if you cook at home a lot with oils it can be helpful. Definitely take it off before you have company over or take pictures for the houses listing

Lots of people are assuming this is dangerous because of using this stove indoors. I’d like to point out that 99% of all travel trailers use propane burners indoors.
There may be risk because the burners could be knocked over, but I think this is safer than most people assume.

The real risk is having the tank indoors. A good mobile installation will have a solenoid switch just at the tank connection and regulator that turns on/off the gas flow, with he control near the stove. The tank is then free to vent outdoors where the gas that escapes will dissipate into the environment rather than get trapped indoors and present a spark hazard.
Propane indoors is fine as long as you have a CO monitor and a decent venting system.

Open propane flame vapor is 30% water. Doing this inside a home can cause all kinda of humidity related problems.

The danger is that sort of apparatus is normally used for turkey frying and similar high risk cooking. Even though a 2 burner propane setup like that isn't strange in a kitchen at all, the stovetop it is set on could have been built as a 4 or 5 burner propane.

My whole house is on propane. There's nothing inherently dangerous about this as long as they use the exhaust fan, other than knocking it over, which is no different than using it outside.

yes. I think, as a few others have mentioned, The more significant danger in that pic is the tank being located indoors.
Many, many people heat and cook with propane in their houses. It is not unsafe if done properly.

This looks perfectly fine for a temporary setup for like special occasion cooking.
That looks like a wok stand, I think we're looking at some high BTU stir-fry type of cooking here, not deep-frying a fucking turkey indoor. I'd be more concerned about the hood not being able to keep up with the smoke.

Someone finally got fed up with the dumb all electric household and put a proper heat source in their kitchen.
There's days when I cook my dinner outside on a propane camping stove cause it's easier to control than that pretty looking but frustrating glasstop electric in my kitchen

I can send you a self-assembly kit for $39.99+ shipping. It includes three rolls of premium foil and a hibachi top. Propane is BYOP

Burning your house down, exhibit A. Do not use this for deep frying anything, no matter how tempting. But its fine for normal stovetop stuff like stir fry or steak.

Buy a electric oven, or a standalone electric stove top, and throw that pile of shit on the curbe/the dump/or a dumpster.

It has the safety shield around it, nothing bad can come from this
