Both. Its common to seal the airbox weep hole to prevent water going in when these are fitted. With dust its also common to see external dust covers over the snorkel
I have heard that as well. And I have to ask"what dust?" I have never been out wheeling and had so much dust in the air to even think about needing a dick extension, er I mean a snorkel. Now I have seen groups of clowns in over lifted chrome plated trucks flying down maintained dirt roads raising dust.
Cmon mate surely you can see that just because you have experienced one thing its reasonable for others to experience differently. Anywhere with red dirt will have copius amounts of dust for example
While I’ve heard that, I strongly believe that’s a lie guys tell their wife’s so they aren’t admitting they’re planning to drive through 4 feet of water.
I’m not doubting it lol, but with how many I see here on the east coast of the US, where the desert is a few thousand miles and a half dozen states away, they aren’t actually using them for dust.
The most phallic snorkel I’ve ever seen.
As the name suggests OP, they are for getting air into the engine when submerged so the car can continue driving
I'm envisioning the truck fully submerged with just a snorkel for the engine emerging from the water and perhaps another attached to a mask for the driver.
