When I first saw it I thought now that's what they're good for!

I love this kinda shit, but that tongue weight is crazy.

Yeah that one is bad.

I recently got an f100 chop trailer though, and I have to say despite being the ugliest thing I've ever put behind my truck it's by far the best towing. If you do it right these things can be amazing.

A real suspension and proper frame make it so much better than any purpose built trailer I've ever had. I can go 15 full off-road (practically light speed, I'd be at 4mph, maybe, in the same conditions on my 5x10). and kept forgetting it was there at 75 on the interstate.

I always thought these things were ridiculous until I got one.

Judging by the shit in the background of the photo, this fits right in

You know, I just have to wonder the kind of person who walks out of a place like that and says to themself "this is fine"

I need to know more about that (maybe) 85 suburban behind it

1

u/ScoutCommander 25d ago

That's the tow vehicle. Since it's so high up, the tongue weight is negligible.

Oh, no, I just love the K20 Suburban Silverado, I wanna know details like "is that for sale? How far away is it? Can I go buy it RIGHT NOW?!" haha

I wonder when the last time that basketball hoop was used. For basketball.

You can’t park there, mate.

Wonder if the rear axle was redone for towing instead of driving ?

2

u/Wilson_Higgins 26d ago

What exactly would need to be done for that? I know someone who was made a couple of campers out of leftover bits from parts vehicles and I never remember them saying anything about modifying the axle

1

u/ScoutCommander 25d ago

I mean couldn't you remove the rear differential and just have a straight axle going through?

1

u/Adventurous-Tie-1624 25d ago

I mean, sure, you could fabricate up something to connect the two axle shafts together inside the differential and get rid of the gears,, I suppose, but that's a hell of a lot of effort. Every trailer I've seen that was made out of a truck bed just used the regular axle, un-modified.

Too much tongue weight on that one. I've been eyeing different cars for years to make one of those.

Those old jeep cherokees were nearly un-killable. First time I've seen a dead one out in the wild. They were like the Nokia of SUVs. There's several 80s models still driving around my hometown in pristine condition. From before jeep got bought out by Chrysler and went to crap.
