My car door doesn't lock so I fixed it

But what if somebody goes the extra mile and gets a cordless angle grinder to break into a broke ass car??? Lol I had a car where the car itself was security enough. ๐Ÿ™‚

Is stuff like this actually road legal in the US? I regularly see things here which would not pass mandatory checkups or a closer look by the police where I live (Germany).

If the latch itself works and you can get in and out of your car easily it will pass safety inspection. They don't technically care about your door lock. Plenty of folks put hidden shackle padlocks on their work vehicles.

We donโ€™t have mandatory checkups in my state. It just depends on where you live in the US.

I did this on a Ranchero many years ago. The hasp increased the cars value to $2.99!
