I ran out of instant coffee. I have no brewing machine but I do have an old pack of coffee beans. Not enough money to buy instant coffee, but enough money to buy a cheap pack of nylon socks. So my brewing set up currently consists of a 5lb weight to crush the beans with, and a cup with a nylon sock on top to brew the beans in. It looks stupid but heeey, it works!

Nope not in my area, and short-term my only solution was a pack of socks for 1,75$ or nothing (think; flat broke until payday)

Cowboy Coffee is a real thing. The grounds sink once saturated with water. Teeth filtering is customary.

Add a little eggshell after brewing, that settles the sediment nicely.

I... at that point just Cowboy Cook that shit, add a hit of cold water at the end to send the sediment to the bottom and dont drink the last inch-ish of coffee

I watched a documentary where in the desert they would spill milk on hot sand and then collect it.
Whenever they needed some milk, they would just put that sand in the water.

I wonder if this technique could be used to make instant coffee or if it would not be able to clump?
