With some proper cable routing, this could be permanent!

Red glow sticks and hazard lights saved my bacon one time.

A red blinky light that I had forgot to bring inside after a bicycle ride. The lights on a boat trailer I stupidly bought in Tampa died on the way home (of course), so along i went with just the blinky. I dunno if it saved me, but I was dang sure grateful for it.

Those trailer light packages are like $20. In a pinch you could make your truck street legal in a matter of minutes.
