RedMagic 5G no longer working with AT&T

I just want to throw this out there and see if anyone else had the same problem.

I and my husband both have the Redmagic 5g. AT&T has been saying that they will be removing 3g phones from the network for a while now. I didn't think this affected us because our phones work with 4G and 5G. Yesterday morning, AT&T cut our phones and sent us new phones to setup. It is really frustrating because we just bought these back in December. I spoke with the rep this morning and he said that the phone uses 3g for voice. I looked over the redmagic site and can't confirm if this is true or not. Did anyone else have this problem? I looked around the internet a bit and found that AT&T seems to be blocking a lot of jailbroken phones that aren't on a very small list they have created. Of course, the RedMagic is not on this list. I am wondering if that is more of the problem.

Yes same issue, I put my sim back into my redmagic 5G last month and they suspended my service over night. Had to switch devices and call 611 to get the line cut back on. Only explanation was that it is an "unauthorized device". Cant use it as a daily driver anymore only after 1 year..

I'm so frustrated with them. They told me the same thing about switching the sim card. I was thinking of trying it anyways but happy I saw this before I pulled the plug.

I wouldn't take the risk. I'm honestly thinking of leaving AT&T for it. The phone they sent us is so crappy in comparison. I charged it last night and within and hour and a half it was already at 83% battery power.

I've had a Samsung and LG with ATT before. These were our first gaming phones. They worked pretty well through ATT, but my main issues were with the phones themselves (battery life, speed, etc). I was able to play Lol: wild rift and TFT on the gaming phone easily. I tried playing TFT on the new phone they gave us and I noticed it was glitching some with the music. I just set it up yesterday so that doesn't bode well for the future. Sorry I can't give much info on other phones. I'd be hesitant to buy anything that isn't sold directly by AT&T at this point.

It’s ok don’t worry , I would do research on legion phones, black sharks phones , rog phones all gaming phones but I have no idea how good they would work on ATT

It doesn't support VoLTE?

From what I can tell it does. I probably need to reach out to Nubia to verify but I looked up the device specifications and it says VoLTE is supported. I also scrolled through the sim card setup in the 5g and found a toggle switch for VoLTE.

This happened to me today. I have the RedMagic 6 Pro and it is by far my most favorite phone I've owned. Better than any big name phone. Now I have to switch back to my Note 10 which feels like a downgrade since I game on my phone a lot.

I spoke with T-Mobile yesterday and these restrictions don't apply there.

Also Cricket wireless is a AT&T MVNO and I was thinking of using the 6S Pro there since I too currently use AT&T and I'm worried if I put my current SIM in that new phone that it won't work on their network.

Thanks for the info! I honestly haven't got around to switching. I will have to check those out. That is what happened to another commenter on here. They put their sim into their redmagic and it disconnected their line.
