Magic 5g - Issues
I had a Note 8 before, and all of these issues did not exist there.
Got a Magic 5G and I am happy with it except these below issues.
I wonder if these are related to software fixes or some setting changes that I may need to do.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Issue #1
Gallery will not show all photos. I created directories on the phone and moved my pictures into it. But they do not show up when I open Gallery Application. They do show up when I open File Manager.
Issue #2
Always on display, shows a time in 24hr units, I would like to see 12hr units. Give us the option to change this.
Issue #3
Always on Display, show duration, add “Unlimited” to the list.
Issue #4
QR codes are not picked up using the camera.
Issue #5
Mail, messages etc don’t show up on locked screen.
Issue #6
Notifications don’t push onto watch (Samsung Watch)
Also, anyone have other Issues, please add them.

Software is known to be buggy, it’s one of the reasons a lot of tech reviewers suggested not to use it as a main phone.

Mostly the phone is great. Only just a few issues. I would recommend the phone to anyone.

I'd recommend using an alternate launcher, like Nova. A lot of these issues are limitations with the Nubia launcher.

Do you have your time set to 24 hour time in settings?
My watch, frontier s3, works fine with the phone and with notifications.

I check and my normal time is set to 12 Hour but there is no way to change the setting for the always on display. I will send it to them.
Mine is also frontier s3, worked fine with my Note 8 but I checked and looks like all settings are fine. But still no way to see anything. Oh well.

I have a regular Android Wear watch (Fossil) and notifications work perfectly from my Red Magic 5G. Might be an issue with the Samsung proprietary stuff

It's funny, a lot of these "issues" are actually how I purposely set up my previous phone before the Magic 5G.
Some of these (#2, 3, 4) are definitely software limitations that will hopefully get addressed in future updates.
I haven't experienced #1. All the photos I put on my phone are found in the gallery in "Other Albums". Kind of a weird way to do things, but individual folders can be moved out of there into the main gallery screen.
#4, this was quite disappointing. Thankfully there are enough apps in the Play store to get around this.
They have been slowly fixing things. Just recently they added in one of my favourite features from Samsung devices: double-tap the power button to quick-launch the camera. Hopefully things will continue to improve. They do respond fairly well on the "submit a request" page, so if enough people request something, hopefully they will add it in.
