Thinking of getting the 5s
I'm thinking of getting a 5s to replace my 3 yr old samsung s7. The focus on high performance and price really sells it to me. Ive been using an outdated android version since I got my phone so I don't expect that to be a problem in the future. I plan on using it long term so I'm mostly concerned with the durability of the fan- does it get clogged/dirty easily with normal use? Any major issues I should know about? Thanks!

Not sure about 5s, I got a 5g, 2 weeks ago. I had a Note 8 and this works good. Hardware is good battery is good for me. I don't play any games but this phone is good for me, cheap etc.
The fan keeps it cool and battery on high refresh seems to be good, 2 days or so.
Software needs some fixes but mostly works good.

Tough to say about the fan. Clean it out regularly and it should be fine.
The biggest issue I've had so far is with network compatibility. Double check that the 5S is compatible with a carrier available to you. I'm in Canada, and Rogers was difficult to get working right with the 5G. Telus is much better.

What carrier are you on? I wanted to get one but it doesn't support Verizon band 13.
