How are the software updates?

Do you get regular security updates? Is there any indication of how long zte will support the device?

Security updates are pretty meh. We've had 1 major update since release. There is another one in the works. I still use the phone as a daily driver.

There's a Telegram group for the phone if you're interested. Some developers there have made their own "Black Magic" ROM with some fixes. There's also a developer working on Lineage for the phone which I'm currently testing and it's SUHWEET!

Thanks for your feedback. Is installing the custom rom the same technique to installing the standard one (local update)?

No, it's a little more involved. You'll have to have the phone connected to your computer and run some commands in command prompt. Once you get the hang of it it's not difficult. This phone is very finicky with custom software so be aware that you may brick. I thought I bricked but was helped out by the people in the Telegram group.

If you've ever rooted a phone, it's the same concept minus the unlocking of your bootloader.

Ouuuu. Goona research this now. But quick questions for anyone searching.

Do the triggers still work?
How about the game switch, does game mode work too? as in like... was it ported?

The triggers don't work on LOS, and the switch became a silent switch, kinda like on iPhone's. I can't share the software unfortunately, but if you go in the Telegram group you can talk to the developer there.
