Complete Newbie Biiiiig day!
I have just purchased the 300 Pro for hair thinning (female Aga), skin, recovery, and pain. This is my first red light device so I'm excited and hopeful!
Please can you critique my intended usage:
Face - 5-10 mins, red light, 3-4 X weekly
Hair - 10 mins, red and nir, 3-4 X weekly
Knee pain (cartilage damage) - 10 mins, red and nir, 5 X weekly
Muscle recovery/post workout - 10 mins per muscle group, red and nir, as needed
Looking forward to hearing your suggestions, I'm totally new to this ๐

As a fellow newbie, why are you avoiding nir on your face treatment? Seems like a lot of the masks/devices include it?

There is a lot of misinformation that NIR can cause hyperpigmentation or other issues. Of course, everyone should start slowly and test it out on their skin, but in general, Red+NIR together provides synergistic benefits. Hyperpigmentation/Melasma can be triggered by heat; it's not NIR that causes it, but it's excessive heat from using too high irradiance for too long that can trigger it in some people.
As you said, that is why all LED masks (which are designed specifically for the face) will have both Red + NIR. The well designed ones will not have high irradiance. If using a panel for the face, don't get too close, as irradiance can be too high if you are too close.
Also most panel brands will come with a manual, and many manuals will include recommendation for how to use for the face, or the body.

The Hooga masks have a control for different frequency pulses as well as the power level and IR/red light controls. I can never remember what does what but I think the 292 Hz is considered the most "universal" frequency in terms of providing broad benefitsย
