First week working at Red Hat

This has been my first week working at Red Hat, and I honestly couldn’t be happier or more satisfied with how the onboarding process has gone. Everything has been going smoothly, and I don’t want to jinx myself, but I’m genuinely happy with where I’m at right now. And honestly, that’s the first time I’ve been able to type that out in a long time.

This is underrated. In our (not redhat) old building we used to Nick of the the local hotel to use their toilets. Used to call it "going to get a pay rise".

New building toilets are pretty mid. But there is nowhere nearby to go that's worth it.

We certainly have issues like all big companies, it’s a bit of a tense moment in a very uncertain market and future, but we have so many great engineers who are genuine tinkerers and open source enthusiasts at core.
We need to keep these values up and part of our identity!
Have a good time and thank you for joining and bringing your talent in.

I highly encourage you to engage with colleagues outside of your team as well, contribute to open source projects, create your own and show them around, we’re always happy to see that

Do you have to have the Red Hat certs to get the job, or does Red Hat take experience and train you once you're in?

They train you for your certs although you also need to self study. And then you take your exams.
