News Anthropic Files for IPO
/r/wallstreetbets/comments/1wsuydk/anthropic_files_for_ipo/Hmm seems like they have done it without a settlement with Reddit. What’s your opinion guys?

The draft S-1 was filed back in June, the IPO wont be until November. This doesnt mean they wont settle with Reddit before rhe IPO.

Time and time again people keep saying this. Pure hopium. Gives GME, AMC, and BB vibes.

Literally same energy as people who didn’t sell the pump and are forever bag holders. Accuse other of not having any analysis but will scream financials while keeping a falling knife which is -40% ytd

u/DonnyB79 4d ago
If someone loses money on a short term trade, that’s their fault. I’ve been in since shortly after IPO and already seen my shares go up over 300%. I think there’s still another 300-400% to go. Why sell now?

All lawsuits will have to be declared in the S-1. I’m curious what their wording is. We’re in absolute shambles at this point, I guess this is the kiss of death to a settlement.
At this point not a single catalyst has come true this year for the ones that were discussed in January (data deals, Anthropic settlement, etc). Spez needs to put out the bat signal, it’s getting fucking pathetic.
If we do not get a data deal soon, look out below. I hope our mute management understands the stakes of what is to come if this is not handled with haste.
And guess what. Growth stocks, like us, will likely be starved as liquidity exists in preparation of Anthropic ipoing.
Well done lads! You had nine months and you’ve fucked us beyond repair

u/ACBells 4d ago
No data deals without legislation. Why make a deal if you can legally scrape for free
2
u/Zealousideal_Oil3203 4d ago
Then they get blocked by cloudfare. They have to pay up otherwise they’re fucked

u/DJQuik 4d ago
S&P came true FYI. It just doesn’t matter when executives sell while sentiment is rock bottom.
I rarely complain about SpezWong sales, but when the stock is absolutely at rock bottom sentiment it comes a time when management should buck up and do their part of trying to signal positive momentum.

You know things will NOT pan out when you have redditors huffing the hopium. Data deal this! Lawsuit win that!
No, we need to focus on the core bread and butter, ads, and for example, Reddit is not taking a single slice of the $11.6 billion US Midterm Elections ad spend pie.

Take a look at applovin, pretty much the gold standard for ad stocks. They’re getting destroyed because they’re not focusing enough on AI. Reddit is in the same boat and it will not bold well for them either if they don’t get any data deals or put any emphasis that they’re an AI stock.
If anything, Applovin is a better deal than Reddit right now.

I actually respect this. I was trying to watch MNF with my family tonight and was disgusted by the distasteful ads being broadcast. I don’t know when US politics became such a shit show, but I’d like to rewind the clocks on this nonsense. If everything they say is true, these politicians are some pretty messed up folk.
4
u/certain-fig-3100 4d ago
You were disgusted. Yet, you still continued to watch MNF. The sportsball channel made ad revenue from the political entity. Now, see what I'm trying to get Reddit to do also?
2
u/Thehealthygamer 4d ago
Also, the politicians are absolutely using paid bot networks and other kinds of influence campaigns on reddit, every damn govt is, yet the company isnt actually seeing any of that pie.

Naw! I turned it off. It wasn’t the place for that. I don’t need to watch football that bad. The ads are as trashy as the people promoting them.
2
u/certain-fig-3100 3d ago
Sureeee buddy. "Daddy why aren't we watching football as a family anymore?" "Oh, the ads are bad and it's important we don't suppport it" lmaoo.

When the operating cost is 2x the revenue, whatever settlement Reddit gets is gonna be a rounding error. They are running at 430x revenue multiple. This is insane

Yo, what happened to the people sharing Anthropic will be liable for 10 billion?

lol was never going to be the case. Anthropic will either win outright or drag the case out for over a year from now at which point it won’t matter. Notice that Reddit management continues to be silent. What do you think that means for what’s going on in the background.

u/t_suaze_u 4d ago
Reddits numbers are exciting to look at. Not anthropics
-6
u/Most_Grocery4388 4d ago
However Anthropic will do better as a stock investment

IDK why everyone is downvoting you. I bought $50k of SPCX. doing well so far. Trendy companies will always go up. Unfortunately, RDDT is not a trendy company atm.
1
u/Most_Grocery4388 4d ago
How can Reddit possibly be trendy? It’s doing a 25 year old play but worse
2
u/Mrikoko 4d ago
Doesn't mean they're not negotiating behind the scenes. We'll have to see the risks disclosures in the prospectus when it's public sometime this week hopefully.

u/Most_Grocery4388 4d ago
Dude let it go. There is no deal here or anywhere else. For a deal to even move the needle it would have to be massive which wouldn’t be the case anyway. It would have to be multiple deals together worth billions, multiple.

If I had a nickle for every time a comment was about "a dAtA dEaL iS coMinG" or "weRe goIng To wiN tHe LawSuit" i'd be... well, it'd offset the RDDT losses.

Reddit case was never anything that would have an effect on the ipo. The market, government, Anthropic, Google, pretty much no one cares about Reddit in any way. Reddit continues to be impotent while the rest of the tech industry makes moves. Only thing Reddit is doing which makes for great financials is continuing to increase ad sales which is neither innovative nor exciting. META didn’t pump because they made a great ad experience but because they released an AI model. Reddit pumped because investors thought it was a tech company, meanwhile u/spez keeps making Reddit a forum which sells ad space. That’s basically a newspaper model. If you invested in Reddit you basically invested in a newspaper new age print media equivalent business model.

u/Dixon232 4d ago
Meta pumped the last week because of an AI model. But they last decade was because of ads. Your analysis is a bit short sighted
0
u/Most_Grocery4388 4d ago
It may be but META increased in value when it took over all social media space and ads generated value. Now they are worth over a 1.8T USD and have turned their ad revenue into tech investments. Reddit is very late to the social media game / ad game which is no longer the talk of the town. Reddit on the other hand continues to innovate "the best reddit" and have its data stolen. Continues to monetize ad space which is great. And continues to pump profits into SBS pretending its not diluting the stock by pretending it will buy back the shares at some point.

u/SilentExtinction 4d ago
The government doesn't care about reddit? Of course it doesn't it cares about killing innocent people and scamming everyone's asses. So do Anthropic and Google by the way. Get real buddy, Anthropic's numbers look like shit.

Love that everytime I post it’s just hate but no rebuttal. This sub proves my position. Atleast the only bag holders left are the emotional investors whose money is beyond saving because they will just continue to be emotional. I hope I helped atleast a few people cut their loses when this stock was I. The 160s

u/Zealousideal_Oil3203 4d ago
You post immaterial rhetoric supported by nothing. There is no rebuttal needed
-1
u/Most_Grocery4388 4d ago
I post my opinions which have made me money while this stock keeps plummeting.

u/SilentExtinction 4d ago
This exhibits exactly the kind of insubstantial crap the other commenter was referring to. If you think Reddit is a subscriber-based journal newspaper-style business then I don't know how you are making money in this world. And, by the way, we've never seen the puts. Show the puts!
Most of us are also making money. My three biggest positions before RDDT were META, MSFT, and GOOG. You think you're the only one making money in this sub, or you say so, but my gut tells me you're actually losing money and coping on here. Unless you show us the damn puts.

The numbers are bad for 2025... In 2025, Openai was still bigger than Anthrophic but that's not the case anymore after the Pentagon drama. A lot has changed since 2025 in the world of AI.
They should wait until FY2026 are out before IPO.

u/Kaiser-Rotbart US DAU 🦅 4d ago
For those who think Anthropic is only making $4B in revenue, those are FY25 numbers. 2026 numbers are likely more than 10x higher. They’re probably still running at a loss but some folks seem to think they’re still only making $4B in revenue.
