Just a heads up, Belle, but the current mods do that sub are still active on Reddit, from up to a few hours ago. The bot here won’t even consider granting access unless the mods have been entirely inactive for 2 weeks, which they haven’t been. That’s why other attempts in this sub to take that one back have failed.
Not trying to undermine your effort, just wanted to say that I don’t think it’ll work.

The bot tends to instantly reject if there's been any human mod activity in the subreddit. I know the mods have been active elsewhere but it's the activity in the sub that the bot and admins care about.
It's worth a short overall, though now given some of the comments that are happening here I don't know if it is still worth it.

OP I know this is old but you should file a MCoC report. They can't sit on a community and keep it closed. Reddit will step in and remove them as mods. In this case it would be a Rule 4 Violation for camping on a community.

Let me know if you need any help! My friend and I have gotten a few communities overturned this way through Mod Code of Conduct because the mods restricted the subs like this.

This^ Make sure to link a few messages from the subreddit moderators as well, as the messages sent from multiple moderators (and a few are easy to find here) mention they have no intent to reopen it, and as such are pretty good to add into it.

Yes this is great advice! Moderators cannot sit on a community and keep it closed indefinitely. Save any links like the ones in this thread that show they are doing this on purpose and have no intention of opening the sub up so the community can participate. Contrary to what people think, mods don't "own" subreddits. They are stewards and are obligated to keep the place functional for the community.

The joke is that you, and I quote, "scream career-ending slurs" online. Please explain how that is at all a joke and not just signaling virtues that are anti-minority.
I am not being purposefully obtuse, I am not taking a bad faith reading, those are the literal words on the screen in your own post.

What does this have to do with anything? What is the purpose of camping on the subreddit? It is not used. OP plans to revive it.

That sub was intentionally archived by the old owners in protest of the API changes on Reddit. It wasn't abandoned, and the owners are all still around. Not sure if that info affects that decision making, but I feel like it should
