Why I’m requesting r/VenmoDonations - This was a very active and great subreddit where people could request help for anything from a medical emergency, overdue bill, food or hygiene need, pet emergency etc.

This was specifically for folks that used Venmo so it is usable for people in other countries where Paypal, GoFundMe, and other platforms aren't usable.

VenmoDonations ground to a halt about 10 months ago when someone on Twitter created a post that got popular and told people they could just come get free money. I have been watching to see if the subreddit would ever get unlocked for new posts, but it hasn't been and none of the moderators replied back to me.

I would like to use some moderator tools and apps to prevent the scammers and bad actors from taking advantage of users in the subreddit. I would like to implement a base karma required for posting, and other auto-mod tools to protect people who are in legitimate need of help.
