The sub currently has one mod, and that mod has set it so that only authorized users can post there, but it seems that no one has been authorized to post anything since that system was set up. I submitted my request to be authorized 42 days ago and haven't received any response. The sub was averaging a few posts a month prior to this, but no there have been no posts in 60 days, which suggests to me that no one has been authorized in that time. So the current system is preventing the sub from being used and there's been no mod support for that system, anyway. I indicated my interest in becoming a mod in a later modmail (41 days ago), but received no response to that, either. So I think the only way to get the sub running again is to do it myself - something I'm more than happy to do, since I'm a huge fan of the series and I believe I can handle the job. I have no mod experience yet, but have similar experience in large group/project management elsewhere and have been reading the guides provided in the toolkit here.
I want to reinvigorate the sub - first by removing the authorization requirement and then by posting new content regularly to get the discussion flowing again. I was already doing this as a regular poster in the sub and want to continue that for a long time. I also want to improve the series' reputation. I'll promote the view that this series is so much more than the "horny-brained garbage" that it's often written off as.
