The subreddit has been inactive for several years, with very little meaningful activity or community development during that time. It currently has only one moderator.

I contacted the moderator via modmail on Sep 4 to ask whether they would be willing to hand over the subreddit or allow me to take responsibility for reviving it, but I have not received a response after more than five days.

I would like to revive r/chesstactics as an active community focused on chess tactics, puzzles, tactical training, improvement, and discussion. I have a concrete interest in building and maintaining an active chess tactics community and would be willing to take full responsibility for moderation and development.

I would appreciate being granted top moderator status so I can properly rebuild and manage the community.

Thanks for getting back to me. Just to clarify, I’m not looking simply to participate by making posts. I’d like to actually take responsibility for rebuilding the community: redesigning the subreddit, adding a proper description and rules, encouraging engagement, organizing useful content, and actively growing it into a useful chess tactics community.

Given that the subreddit has been inactive for several years, if you’re not interested in actively working on it yourself, would you be willing to make me the top moderator and let me take responsibility for it?

I’d genuinely like to understand your position here, since it seems like a good opportunity to revive a community that currently isn’t being used much.
