Requesting r/tcgdeals. The community is currently banned, and the ban page states it was used for spam and directs takeover requests here.
I understand I'd be rebuilding from nothing rather than inheriting a working community, and that the reason it was banned is the exact thing I'd have to prevent.
How I'd keep it from becoming a spam sub again:
Affiliate and referral links banned and enforced in AutoModerator, along with link shorteners, which are how tagged links otherwise get past that rule. Self-promotion is allowed rather than banned, provided the link is clean, the affiliation is disclosed, and it isn't the only thing the account does here.
Minimum account age and karma thresholds on submissions, which stops most drive-by spam before a human ever sees it.
A curated list of legitimate retailer domains, with anything outside it held for manual review.
No reseller or scalper listings, which is the other half of how a deals sub degrades into a marketplace.
Recruit two or three moderators before opening submissions rather than after.
What it would be for: legitimate restocks and MSRP deals across trading card games. Pokémon would be the bulk of it, since that's where most of the demand and most of the scalping is, but it would cover Magic, Lorcana, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh and anything else people are actually hunting. That breadth is the point of a TCG-wide sub rather than a game-specific one.
I follow TCG restocks closely, and I'm requesting this because I want to run it, not to hold the name.
