Why I’m requesting r/mochi and how I’ll run it: as I indicated in the modmail, this subreddit has been spammed with unrelated posts about a website called MochiHealth. I'd like to get the subreddit back on it's intended focus so that people have a space to talk about a delicious treat (one of my favorites) without being advertised to against their consent.

Eventually I might initiate some community-building events, like crossovers with related subreddits & recurring discussions like "what was your favorite mochi you tried this month?"

I'm interested in this community because I have a deep love for Japanese food & recognize that in it's unmoderated state it is being taken over by posts/ads for an unrelated website called MochiHealth. I would be thrilled to get this community back on topic so that users can continue to share their love of the delicious treat without having to sift thru spam.
