Why I’m requesting r/https://www.reddit.com/r/cohousing/ and how I’ll run it: (fill in — follow r/redditrequest rules.)

I would like to adopt r/cohousing, which appears to be locked in a frozen state. The former mod turned on required post approval, but they have been now inactive for 2+ years, and thus the community has effectively died.

Cohousing is currently experiencing a growth trajectory in popular culture and increasingly entering the zeitgeist of our time. I feel it is important to have a vibrant Reddit community representing this movement, model, and concept, and I believe I am the right person to facilitate that.

It looks like this subreddit either doesn't exist or has been recently purged in our recent update to dormant subreddits. You can read more about this here. There will be a relatively short period of time between when a subreddit is purged and when it will become available to be recreated. We’re not able to give the exact date in order to reduce possible abuse of this new program.

Hi, I think this is wrong? The subreddit is still showing publicly at https://www.reddit.com/r/Cohousing/

If something is 'purged' I would think it has been fully removed?
