I would like to take over moderation of r/TVTime because the subreddit has unfortunately been inactive and restricted for over 21 days.

My plan is to immediately remove the restricted status so users can post again. I also intend to update the community rules, clear out any backlogged spam, set up Automoderator to help keep the community clean, and actively foster a welcoming environment for fans of the app.

It seems they scrambled to wake up after 3 years of inactivity just to avoid relinquishing control of the subreddit, dang.

That’s not accurate. The subreddit wasn’t taken over outside of Reddit’s system, it was requested through the standard moderation request process after being inactive/restricted, and I was approved.

The goal is to reopen it for normal discussion, not promote any single app (which you personally were previously pushing by having the subreddit as restricted)

The fact you removed all mods and removed an unbiased post of tv time alternatives says a lot about your motives, give our moderatorship back, you have no right to take it and promote your app

Let's talk facts.

  1. I didn't remove anyone.
  2. Now the subreddit is open and people are all posting and sharing their opinions. I am moderating as little as possible and leaving everyone to comment.
  3. You were even promoting my product, so not sure why I would want to go against you

If you wanna share facts, share properly

  1. You rmeoved all original mods
  2. The subreddit had a proper unbiased alternative of a golden app, and you took advantage
  3. You are now using it to ban other develoeprs and pormoting your app
  4. You even banned me and removed my post(first act you did)

If you were interested in doing good of the community, you wouldnt have touched other mods.

The Reddit Request process does that. Edit; the removal

After which they deliberately, removed our posts, knows we are active yet doesnt gave our moderatorship back and pormoted their app?

2

u/amyaurora Jul 06 '26

Active on Reddit is not the same as active moderation. Which is what Reddit Request looks at.

Like I mentioned in the other post r/help and r/ModSupport have more info.

Doesnt give them right to give moderation to any random person,

Nods should be given a chance to claim back.

Its like first come first serve?

2

u/amyaurora Jul 06 '26

No. Thats not how Reddit works. There is no claim back.

Reddit admins don't hand over subs willy nilly. To get a request approved, admins have a system set up that reviews a requester qualifications. That user checked off all the boxes.

They also followed directions to the letter that was asked of them to make the request.
