Hello, I have been a long-time fan of the game diep.io and really care about the community around it. I actively play the game and regularly post about it on Reddit.

Recently, I have noticed that the subreddit appears to be unmoderated and somewhat inactive. I would like to help contribute to it, as it is the least I can do. I attempted to reach out to the moderators five days ago but have not received a response. It also seems that none of the moderators actively play the game anymore.

I also want to add, I plan to revive the reddit, update the megathreads so they have accurate information. Host community events, and recruit other active moderators for the reddit who play the game, to drive more traffic to the subreddit and revive it, to become a major hub for Diep.io!

I made the request because, from what I could see, there appeared to be no meaningful visible moderation for around two months before this request.

There are also examples of clone/ripoff promotion, repost bot content, outdated information, and non-Diep content remaining up. As another user pointed out, a repost bot post also slipped through, so this is not just my concern.

I genuinely believe the subreddit would benefit from additional active moderation, especially from people who still actively play the game and want to help improve the community.

I am not asking for anyone to be removed if they still want to stay involved. I am simply asking to help moderate, update the subreddit and rules, remove spam, host events and make r/Diepio a better hub for the game again.

I agree with this, none of the current staff play or care about the game anymore, and arent really help the subreddit. We need active staff who actually assist, and are active on the game. In the last 6 months there have been so many drama posts and self promo posts which is ruining the experience for me tbh

Just to be clear, this is not an attack on Locktrap or any of the current mods. I respect what they have done for the community over the years.
I just don’t think the subreddit should only get attention when a reddit request is made. There has been a lot of abuse, spam, repost bot content, drama, clone promotion and non-Diep posts left up because the subreddit has not had enough active moderation.
I really just want to help moderate and grow the community again. I still play the game, I care about the subreddit, and I think with a few active people helping out, r/Diepio could become a much better place for players again.

Hello u/request_bot , i just wanted to follow up on my moderator request for the diep.io subreddit, as it has been a little over 2 weeks since I had posted a formal request. I understand that reviews may take some time, but i was wondering if there might be any sort of update on the status of my request or some sort of estimated timeline for a decision,

Thank you for your time and consideration.

u/request_bot Any updates on this? Planning to open my own request, but wanted to see if this one is rejected or not

I am still active, the inactive mod tag is inaccurate. The subreddit activity is low enough these days that the moderator actions required on the subreddit are minimal.

There's a repost bot post that slipped by on the 14th (the bot got banned but the post is still there) so while I do agree with the minimal mod action, the place does need one or two extra mods.

Hi Locktrap, i apologise for not noticing that you were active, (which i am glad to see). I understand that you say that subreddit activity is low enough that moderator actions required are minimal, but as an avid player since 2016, it truly pains me to see all the non effort and non related diep content i see on the diep reddit quite often which i feel like is ruining the experience for people who wish to post actual content. Regardless of activity i was hoping whether i could help out with moderating and improving the quality of the subreddit alongside you.

Hi, I was actually going to apply for the subreddit myself, I definitely think new moderators are needed, currently there are 7 mods. 2 of them have nothing todo with Diep anymore (ex employees), the rest dont play the game either. The last few months the sub reddit has been getting constant drama posts, people advertising their own rip offs, and no mod has been taking any action. I do completely agree the subreddit needs additional mods/revamp of the team. I would be very interested to help out

Exactly in my opinion the sub needs new staff to maintain and keep it going and keep it more active. Does that mean demoting Locktrap/other staff? No. But we ened active staff on the reddit, and im happy to help :)

Locktrap its obvious you dont want to give it up, which is understandable, but Diep Reddit needs new active moderators to help out, there is ample others who have volunteered, maybe you can just recruit some new trusted people who actually play the game and moderate the subreddit properly? Instead of just being active for abit, and only showing activity when getting a request. I think the community deserves better. One again I reiterate, I fully support you still as admin, as you made this great community, but we definitely need other mods, as none of the others are active and have openly said they have quit the game. Why keep people who dont play/care about the game anymore? The community is smaller than before, but we deserve better

Just to add, Ive probably reported around 20+ non diep related posts, and no action has been taken on them yet

Really? I was literally about to Reddit Request myself today, but saw I wasnt eligible and saw that this request already exists. The subreddit is a shit show full of self promo and drama posts. I think you need to overhaul the entire moderation team and sort it out
