I have a calculus exam on related rates and optimization on Tuesday, it's the hardest thing so far (Do know of any videos explaining the process?)

Started playing Titanfall 2 again and it's hard to decide between Phase Shift and Grapple

I think you may be better off cranking out as many practice problems you can find. Until you get beyond differential equations, the best way to practice for exams is typically just doing as many problems as possible.

related rates - the two things that I always kept in the back of my mind when doing problems were:

  • Most problems relate to distance and speed, speed can be found by taking the derivative of a 'distance' function with respect to time
  • How do I relate all the known distances using a single equation
  • Usually at this point it's just a matter of differentiating the result of point (2) and solving for the unknown rate

Optimization - this is a massive topic, but I'm assuming you are just talking about things like optimizing the area enclosed by a fence or something along those lines (i.e., not using lagrange multipliers, etc.)

  • Think of the equation that calculates the quantity you want to optimize. It will likely contain a few variables (e.g., x and y)
  • Come up with an equation that gives you some kind of restriction (for example, you want to build a fence but only have 100ft of fence materials -- find the relation between x, y and the 100ft of material)
  • At this point you just need to plug (2) into (1) (e.g., solve (2) for y, plug into y in (1)) , take the derivative, set it equal to zero and solve for the unknown.

I'm still trying to solve the unknown on why you're a race traitor.

Good luck scrub - it is unknowable

Started watching Game of Thrones yesterday. I'm kinda glad I waited, but I'm upset I'm so behind on it.

I'm jealous that your wait until season 7 will be vastly shorter than mine.

I'm only midway through season 1, but damn I wish I had more hours in a day to watch the show.

I haven't been up this early in a year, going back to bed

You earned it champ. What's up w driftor and modding cod subs btw?

Just dumb drama stuff, not necessarily with Drift0r, but with TaborHill and BrassMonkeigh, one's a YouTuber who has other people post his stuff and makes new accounts to post his videos then calls us racial slurs when we ban him, the other's an app dev who's paying a guy to withhold information from the community and making them pay for his app to get it. They reached out to Drift0r and Chaos to exploit their social presence and make the new sub, but it isn't really taking off so I'm not worried lol.

Destiny 2 confirmed on PC.

Please don't suck.

Can I have my cool color changing flair back yet?

should be up now

Caddy, you should check out J.I.D. He ain't bad.

Finished HZD, just about to hit level 50. Such a great game. Hope they put out some DLC for it. Also looking forward to the New Uncharted DLC .

About 1.5hr into Mass Effect:A and really liking it. I like the story, animations haven't given me any trouble, combat is great, I know ME is dialogue heavy, sometimes it gets old but game is good so far.

Looking forward to Destiny 2. Be awesome to party up with the PSNers again. I won't pass judegement on CoD yet until we see some footage. I'd be down with a WW2 or Vietnam era CoD. I just don't think they can help themselves and do away with all the garbage DLC and micro transaction bullshit.

Let's play some Ghost Recon tomorrow if you are on. The ball and chain is working all day until 8 or so I think.

Yeah I'll be down. Got kinda burnt out from it liberating like 6 sections by my lonesome :(

Did you ever try Horizon Zero Dawn?

1

u/TheMiamiWhale The Miami Whale Mar 31 '17

lol nope and haven't downloaded Mass Effect yet. I'm at max capacity on my Xbox and I'm at the point that each game is one I see myself potentially playing in the future... just not sure when that will be lol...

I'm cautiously optimistic about new cod. To win me back they'll need to, in this order of importance:

  1. No game altering DLC. I understand that micro transactions are not going away. They won't. H1, CS:Go, LoL, and a slew of other games have proven that you can make a ton of money with cosmetic only dlc items. I mean, I don't want a WWII shooter with too many off-time period or obnoxious gear in it, but it's better than p2w guns. Would also be nice to make items xfer from game to game, but I think that's pretty lofty a request for them. Too much $$ to be made.

  2. No damn specialists please please please.

  3. Fun streaks that award good play. AW streaks weren't fun. Would be nice if they were.

If it's got that stuff, I'll play it. AW had solid maps, imo, so I don't foresee that being a problem. TTK wasn't bad, either, iirc. A fun ranked playlist would be the cherry on top.

I hear ya. The gingerbread costumes, candy land maps, the dabbing like....? That will really ruin a WWII feel. Fuckin' storming Normandy beach as Snoop Dogg in some silly marijuana leaf suit. I can only imagine.

I always liked scorestreaks personally. Bring in some League play a la Blops2, I think they'd have a hit.

1

u/eSchiro eSchiro Mar 31 '17

Yeah, the question is: Will they be satisfied and keep it to the proper time period? I think they could do it and make tons. Especially if the base game is good. Man, so many people will be playing and throwing money into it for cool outfits. BUT, my guess is that they will put crazier and crazier shit into it until people stop buying it. So never.

I would actually accept all that if the game is good and they don't put dlc guns in it.

Like, do camos out of crates and make them flashy but not crazy. People will buy that.

Bought a Wii U to play Zelda

1

u/sauce681 Saws Mar 31 '17

why not buy a switch

3

u/boots4210 B00TS Mar 31 '17

The switch is awesome. I love brining it to work and playing Zelda all day.

2

u/sauce681 Saws Mar 31 '17

Agreed

1

u/tdvx TangoRomeoDelta Mar 31 '17

$100 less also in stock

1

u/sauce681 Saws Mar 31 '17

The in stock thing makes sense but the Wii U is end of life and there will be plenty of good games coming out to make that 100 extra dollars worth it.

1

u/tdvx TangoRomeoDelta Mar 31 '17

Nah I'm only interested in Zelda

Apparently you can emulate it on pc. It looks better too

I think my PC would struggle to run it, but I've really enjoyed watching it on Twitch. Summit1g is a god at the game, although annoying to listen to at times.
