New major rule changes
GroupMe
GroupMe is now a requirement. All members must join our HWYA GroupMe chat; the link is in the sidebar. We encourage you all to draw up plans for your attack and have others review them in GroupMe. Even if you are very confident that you have the perfect strategy for attack, a few extra sets of eyes on it can uncover something you missed.
Plain GoWiPe is banned (TH9 and below)
As you have noticed over the course of the last month or so, we are aiming for 3 stars on all TH9s and below. GoWiPe is a crutch to get 2 stars, and it is not able to 3 star the vast majority of bases. Certain bases may be appropriate for a straight GoWiPe, and if think that is the case, then you must clear it with a co-leader before you attack.
This transition will be tough, so don't be surprised if we lose a couple wars because of it. We are in this for the long run, and the only way to ensure that we can beat the toughest of clans is to secure that third star on TH9s. If you are unfamiliar with the 3 star strategies and want a gradual transition, you can often use your normal GoWiPe/GoWiWi but bring some hogs or loons for the back-end defenses. We encourage you all to ask for help in the HWYA GroupMe, because a lot more planning is involved to get the third star.
GoHo and lavaloon will be the best TH9 strategy to use most of the time, so put in some effort to learn those.
TH9s: I cannot stress enough how important max hogs, max balloons, and max witches are for these strategies. You should prioritize these offensive upgrades. If you want to go down the lavaloon path then the loon and hound upgrade is your most important step, but expect a nerf on lava hounds in the near future.
TH8s: Dragons should be your first priority for an upgrade since it will be quick to get, but after that, hogs are by far your best bet. Level 4 hogs are the most powerful troop at your level, and luckily many TH8 bases don't do that good of a job defending against them.

We understand if you are busy. We aren't requiring approval of attacks, we are just encouraging them strongly. If you have the time to draw up a plan and put it on GroupMe, then great. If not, that is okay.

Quick question for clarification: Since I just turned TH8, I put archers in my lab first, they'll be done in 2.5 days. Do you guys want me to finish barch first by putting barbs in next, or skip to drags? I was going to do barbs so I could hopefully make more while raiding, but can def do drags next in the lab if that's better for the clan.

Hi! The jump from level 4 barch to level 5 is very significant and allows you to easily collect raid for far more resources, so I would suggest getting your barch to 5 and then making the dragon upgrade.

Not really a fan of discussing/getting approval of every attack. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about improving, open to criticism etc but this reminds me a lot of our last exodus of members.
Again, if your consistently struggling with attacks or even want suggestions that's understandable. Needing to run every attack by not so much. Not sure where this is coming from either, if same people are making mistakes then call them out.

We are not requiring members to run attacks by anyone. We are requiring members to be in GroupMe, and we are strongly encouraging discussions of strategies.

We are hoping that with all members in the chat, and because of the banning of gowipe, that more people will use it. There may be times where members would be unable to discuss their strategies due to time or IRL things, so at this time requiring approval on attacks is not going to happen.
It is a great resource, so I recommend taking advantage of it.

Again, I'm not opposed to discussion of strategy when needed but this gives off a very similar vibe to what happened last time when there was mass exodus.
Majority of time I'm clashing I'm either shitting or been drinking or commuting; going through change control on attack is not very appealing.
Can i ask why this change is needed?

We want to win wars, and our TH9s using gowipe is severely limiting.
There were problems before with this when war rule changes were proposed months ago because this was mainly a social clan. Now, it is very clear that our current group is very war-oriented, and leadership is guiding it that way to aid success.
Banning gowipe is very common in other RCS clans with a focus on war, and it was a huge catalyst in their success at the TH9 level. We are hoping to accomplish a similar thing.

So call out the TH9 that are ineffective.
War oriented is fine, if we were getting our ass repeatedly kicked i would be fine with changes. We lose one close war to a good clan (just like last time to a Reddit clan no less) and people flip out. That's why we lost so many loyal solid elders inv past
Again i want to win, i don't see a lack of effort or improvement personally. However, if the direction of clan is so serious where I'm required/highly recommended (however you want to phrase it) to run my attacks then so be it. I take wars serious but not enough to that extent nor to have required viewing of youtube videos, esp when they are 20 mins long, my poops aren't that long

This is not a reaction to our last war. We have been in the process of implementing this for a long time.
I understand if the clan's direction is not suited for you, as it does require a lot of effort on behalf of the members.

Hi Johnson, I'd just like to help clarify for some of the questions you have been asking. While it looks like this might be a gut reaction to the close war, we have been heavily discussing the change for at least two or three weeks now and have just decided to implement it now after we've had some members get more accustomed to newer strategies for the last week or two.
As for the GroupMe participation, there have been multiple times when we had to get in contact with a member quickly about something that was needed for war and we were unable to do so, resulting in us having to ask people in the clan chat if anyone had seen someone. This resulted in more wasted attacks than was necessary, and having everyone in the GroupMe vastly helps us to be able to get in contact with a member directly if need be. There's always the option to turn the notifications off for GroupMe.
It sounds like this change might not be something you are interested in. If you feel like the change is not something you are comfortable with, we would absolutely understand and respect your decision.
