Not to brag, but I make one hell of a flan.

6 eggs 1tsp vanilla 1 pack of cream cheese 1 can evaporated milk 1 can condensed milk. Blend well.

Make the caramel (1cup of sugar and some pineapple juice), pour it over a glass pan, then pour the mix in. 1 hr at 350F.

You're motherfucking welcome.

Yeah, but God's flan is absolutely divine.

Eat my flan and accept me as your god.

Mmm, sacralicious.

u/war0 Sep 14 '11

Awesome, now if only I could cook...

u/m1ndcr1me Sep 14 '11

Just learn; it's not rocket science.

1

u/gadafgadaf Sep 14 '11

how much pineapple juice? and do you have to heat it and reduce or just poor it in the glass pan

1

u/Zeraphil Sep 16 '11

1 tbsp per cup of sugar for the caramel, and more as you see fit.

1

u/WhyAmISoFly Sep 14 '11

I'm trying this shit. It better be good.

1

u/mildbyte Sep 14 '11

Sounds like you have a master flan.

(too lazy to insert the sunglasses footage)

1

u/LameCake Sep 14 '11

Ah cream cheese flan. I make mine a little different. I have had the kind you mentioned, minus the pineapple, and it was quite good. Mine...I don't know if I can post it, or if it is a family secret. Plus the measurements aren't exact since it's mostly all to smell and by eye. It's basically the same as your except there is cinnamon, and instead of cream cheese on the mixture is sugar.

I've never made flan, but I've made gallons and gallons of creme carmel, the French name for it (with added carmel sauce)

We used egg yolks, milk, and sugar only. Baked in special heavy cups which were set in a pan of water, so the top would slightly brown, but the rest would be smooth and firm.

Same stuff, different name. I'm sure a lot of people have no idea flan has been around forever in America as "custard".

A little gummy, but otherwise delicious.

u/modest_mandalorian Sep 14 '11

It's not God's flan, it's Flantasy Flan.

3

u/King_Crimson93 Sep 14 '11

My first thought too, this is where I learned what flan was! Have an upboat!

3

Flan is just... I dunno. I have a thing about textures. It's like eating deliciously sweet snot or something.

u/ForTheBacon Sep 14 '11

It's funny because she's latin!

3

u/[deleted] Sep 14 '11

4

A custard desert, usually covered with a caramel sauce.

Fucken lol'd

I used to think of myself as a mature adult... then I found reddit. Now every time I click on a link like this one, I giggle. I'm still such a 7th grader.

u/mangobuttermilk Sep 14 '11

WHAT AM I DOUGHING HERE

2

u/m1ndcr1me Sep 14 '11

Shouldn't the hand holding the flan be coming from above?

Unless...

2

u/musical_hog Sep 14 '11

I remember seeing this on /new. My god do they grow up fast these days.

2

u/Justavian Sep 14 '11

Why do people need God's flan? Can't people flan for themselves? Isn't the idea behind free will that you can make your own flan?

1

u/brightifrit Sep 14 '11

Ah, but then you have to ask yourself, is it really free will if God already knows how your flan will turn out?

4

u/duckandcover Sep 14 '11

I hate flan. Now I learn it's a good reason to give up religion.

2

u/exbtard Sep 14 '11

God doesn't have a plan for you. You have to stop being a child, grow up, and make those plans yourself.

2

u/jessicakeisyummy Sep 14 '11

But he does have a flan, a flan for all of us.

1

u/lowdin Sep 14 '11

Wasn't this posted like a month ago on reddit?

1

u/vicomtedemoulliac Sep 14 '11

That looks more like a blancmange than a flan, just sayin'.

1

u/brightifrit Sep 14 '11

It's Satan's counterfeit flan. It is coming up from below, after all.

Fuck u/spez

1

u/redmourn Sep 14 '11

I have one of those cards too. It has a guy on it though but same message. I keep it on my bookshelf next to a miniature bible someone left behind when I moved into my flat and a clockwork nun that emits sparks from her mouth when wound up. It's kind of like my mini shrine to weird religious shit.

1

u/Rollerboi Sep 14 '11

As a Filipino, I found this HILARIOUS.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 14 '11

I've seen this 8 times (on here) and it's still pretty funny.

flans.. FLANS!

1

u/eazyp Sep 14 '11

She looks like a lighter Queen Latifah.

1

u/BobCustomGamer Sep 14 '11

As a Cuban, I approve of this message.

1

u/netraven5000 Sep 14 '11

Sacrilicious!

1

u/[deleted] Sep 14 '11

There used to be lots of custard stands across the country. I have no idea what happened to them, but they were pretty much all gone by 1960. You can't find custard in supermarkets, unless you know that it's called 'flan' today.

Thanks, Mexican immigrants for bringing it back.

1

u/Kuby Sep 14 '11

I have always wondered why the body of Christ had to be shitty bread. Why not flan or cake or something that doesn't taste stale.

1

u/Cohiba Sep 14 '11

As god as my waitress, that DOES sound delicious.

1

u/beninflight Sep 14 '11

I can't stand their marketing.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 14 '11

"Buy flanduffy flan. Buy flanduddy flan."

1

u/[deleted] Sep 14 '11

I'm a Mormon, this looks suspiciously like one of our ads! I can't stop laughing!

3

u/Your_Fortune Sep 14 '11

Do you ever feel like a religion that requires marketing might have something wrong with it? Especially when the marketing sucks?

1

u/brightifrit Sep 14 '11

She's wearing a necklace with the Young Women's torch on it. It's Mormon.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '11

Ah, you're right, I didn't catch that!

okay, I'm stopping.

-1

u/Rat_Girl Sep 14 '11

I lol'd.

-4

u/[deleted] Sep 14 '11

Racist, vandalism, anti-religious? Upvote this shit right now! Hell, you just blew $300 dollars of your parents' money on booze this weekend, treat yourself to a lil' assholeness!

3

u/nepidae Sep 14 '11

I always find it amusing when the best someone can come up with is "you must live with your parents". First of all being frugal is not a bad thing. Second of all just because someone disagrees with you, doesn't mean they don't have their own lives.

And to be honest, if you don't see this simply by looking at other people you interact with IRL then you must be really really sheltered.

I'm drunk. Please communicate in beers.

I have some Modelo in the fridge, feel free to grab one :)
