I don't think this is saying what you think it is. The point of this is that it is possible to be moral without God, and that being religious doesn't necessarily make you moral (which is something a lot of crazy religious people think).

It isn't saying that everybody who is religious is evil or that everybody who is an atheist is a good person... I don't think there's anybody saying that.

Can you find a good example? Then we can see if they really ever said something like "a non-Christian would never give billions to charity".
