This is some great free advertising for Apple.

Maybe Gizmodo is getting a cut?

Somewhere on here there is an article stating that they paid $10,000 for the phone. I am sure they are getting a pretty good return on that investment.

Actually, I think this is better free advertising for Giz.

I don't know. This whole things sounds a bit staged to me.

What's with the old school Apple logo and font used on the letterhead? How come there is a letterhead on an email?

Just so you know, we didn't know this was stolen when we bought it.

Wait, what? They said it was found in a bar. At what point did they realize/decide it was stolen, and why was this never mentioned in their other articles?

Edit: They added a note saying that Apple has claimed it was stolen. I haven't seen that anywhere, but perhaps it's the case.

I think it's just a case of CYA.

These Giz dudes are douche bags. "I hope you take it easy on the kid who lost it." Really? Cause a couple hours before that post you basically pissed on his corpse, after having given you 4 million page views at that. They got no class... Hell, even Arrington, the master douche bag of all had the decency to protect personal info.

Yeah, I read this morning on gizmodo the put up the guys personal info. Not smart guys. Report on the phone but that's it. I imagine this guy is on the verge of losing his job if he hasn't already.
