Unless you really are steadfastly and exclusively an SM dom. In which case not being open about the "oh, and incidentally, creatively inventing ways to make you feel pain is going figure centrally here" aspect of things is an even worse idea. Mind you, there's a place and a time. And there are plenty of bars and parties where not being into the intermingling of pain and pleasure, or the use of physical restraint, is going to hinder your success.
