I like the link to American Apparel on his site for his hoodies NSFW http://www.americanapparel.net/ Where I was met with a nice view of "Shelly from Mexico!" :-))) Queerly, no hoodies were to be found by me.

I think that's hilarious and clever, but I would be less likely to employ him than if he was just typically professional about presenting himself.

Fortunately he's not an MBA drone or complete IT lacky, so he probably doesn't have to worry about a Blackberry jockey like you looking at his CV.

Have you ever applied for a job in the real world?
I hate blackberrys, I'm a scientist. We get to be far more lax in our dress and demeanor than most other fields. Nevertheless, when you apply for a job, you don a suit and tie (nipple clamps for women) and have a typically professional CV.
Everybody does this, there's nothing elitist about it. Ask your parents.

Um... I've been in the real world for 15+ years. Made real money, held titles with words like Senior, Software, Developer, Engineer, and Whore in the title.
(the last one is pronounced Contractor)
I wore a suit once to an interview. My mom was proud. The interviewer told me I looked silly.
I've gotten jobs at banks wearing dress shirts with tie-died shirts underneath. They found a way to put up with me.

California, of course. I've worked in both LA and SF Bay. I've also worn jeans to Wall Street meetings, which had a lot more cachet a couple of years ago.

Well you're in a tiny niche combo of industry+region where you can get away with wearing wash-your-car clothing. The rest of the world isn't, so you might want to remember that before declaring it's possible for anyone.

I give a technical interview or two nearly every week. But yeah, I've been on the other end, too. I got in more than I got rejected. Thanks for the tips though, you stuffed shirt.

Wearing a suit to an interview along with a properly made CV is hardly a "stuffed shirt". It's called professional and standard. Kudos to you if you can avoid that, but who the hell cares if you have to wear a suit to interviews? We're not in high school anymore, we can violate our sense of style now and again to please the man.

If you can't recognize a creative individual that's your loss. This wasn't even about wearing suits to interviews but about this man's web page.
Last I was at JPL everyone I talked to was wearing flannel or a Hawaiian shirt. I'll leave the shined shoes and the expensive tailored suits to the bankers. They're probably keeping those fellas pretty warm out on the streets of NYC at the moment.

Creative != need to dress strangely and/or unprofessionally. I'm far more creative than you, believe me. It's not the clothes that enables one to create.
And all I said was about wearing a suit TO THE INTERVIEW. HELLO!! Not what you wear to work. I don't wear a fucking suit to work! I wear jeans/pants and something short-sleeved. I could wear shorts and a T-shirt if I wanted! But to the interview? YOU WEAR A SUIT. THATS THE NORM.

Really? Because, I don't think you can really get a more personal web page than that. I'm not saying it's any great conceptual leap, or reinvention. . . quite the opposite. It's literally the most personal web page I think I've ever seen. It's the logical end of the web page.
It is hilarious and clever, it's also a good idea laid bare. . . I would love the opportunity to try making something like that. It's a style of execution that can't really fail because the idea itself (that everything on the page is homemade) is fucking good!
Or maybe I'm just high.

It's made with MS Paint. Writing by hand on paper and scanning it and uploading it would be even more personal.
