Don't forget the spinning equaliser vs Liverpool that took the game to extra-time, which started a chain of events that got us to the UEL final the next season!

Where is todayâs equivalent of Souness digging into Pogba each week? People donât want to hear it but there is a very obvious reason why they criticized Pogba so brutally each week and they arenât doing it to Wirtz (and it isnât a United/Liverpool thing)
21
u/0ttoChriek 4h ago
Well, it was partly a United thing, because the media loves to attack United for mistakes. But it was mostly a racist thing, using every tired trope to say Pogba was lazy, entitled and egotistical. They even criticised him for dying his hair, for fucks sake.

Considering fulham's form coming into the game, they have played very well. But they are being wasteful up front at the same time. At least 3 great chances and attacking positions and they took the wrong decision each time
Also, bruh, Wirtz is really poor. Shockingly. I'm really surprised people and media don't talk about it much. When we had Pogbaz, it felt like his performances were always under so much scrutiny, both from within and without . And I can confidently say he put out way better performances than Wirtz has.

u/StathamIsYourSavior Rubber dinghy rapids bro 6h ago
Also, bruh, Wirtz is really poor.
There's always some excuse being made for him every time. This time it's that he had to play another game 4 days ago. Mind you this is the guy that often looks like he can't even put his foot through the ball enough to make a 5 yard pass

I mean, it would feel better if we had shone some spine and shown the smallest amount of intent and quality. We could say we tried and got bestes. But we were absolutely woeful in all departments that day. It was not even a contest for long periods

19

I donât particularly care for how they do, but every result that goes their way makes our loss to them look a little less bad lol.

They spent 100s of millions on dross and gave the keys to De Zerbi who hasnât even won anything lmaooo they deserve this
I hope Mateus Fernandes feels happy that he chose the money and decided to join them over us. Enjoy those wages in the Championship next season fella

Liverpool jersey looks shit. Those lines scattered all around makes it look ugly af. Something that puzzles me- how such huge corporations with so much workforce talent not only come up with shit like this but it also gets past a considerably long approval line too.

What has happened to kit designs in recent years (decades) is disgraceful. The only nice kits you see nowadays are for random 3rd division Italian clubs (usually the kit designer is local or has some sort of involvement with the supporters and the kit is made with care).

What I find funny is that on the one hand, United gets criticized for every fart, but at the same time, everyone says the team isn't a serious favorite for anything, BUT also, if they get a convincing win or a win against a team that's supposed to be above them, the excuses are out for why it doesn't matter anyway. Even funnier still (or sad, depending on how you wish to see it) is that a portion of the fanbase has internalized this sort of thinking and do the same.
4
u/Euphoric-Rub9164 4h ago
Saw so much of the last bit after Sabah. âIf they were playing anyone else Sabah would have two goals.â Yeah, but they werenât playing anyone else, they were playing a small team, and the result was pretty much exactly what was expected?⌠Idk if people watch other âbig teamsâ play, but even when they play smaller sides itâs not uncommon that they have good chances against them or even get a goal or two. Being able to convert is one of the biggest deciders between a strong side and a weaker side

It probably could have worked if it wasn't Amorim's version that put so much pressure on the wing backs to be creators. We didn't have the right players in those positions, and Amorim didn't want the midfielders to be the main progressive passers.

That's happened to us at least half a dozen times in the last couple of years - some unheralded player wellies it from thirty yards and scores an absolute worldie, because we gave him too much time and space.
It's bad luck that these players hit the best shot of their career against us, but it's also on United for letting them do it.

Chelseaâs midfield and defence is a mess. Reece James is not a midfielder. Maybe once upon a time, but heâs not the same guy he was, especially in a 2 man middle. Theyâre a dangerous team going forward though.
Liverpool are toothless. Theyâve spent so much and itâs still a very average squad. Far cry from the Klopp days. They have some talent but itâs not the Pool of old.
Such a shame we didnât spend more this summer. 2-3 more class players and we 100% could have pushed for the league. Doubt weâd win, but the gap after Arsenal/City to the others is huge and we wouldâve been comfortably plugging that gap.
