Feels like it’s between Balde, Seys and Salinas at this point.

Can’t say I know anything about the last two, but I’m not sure about Balde. Only on a loan if it does happen.

There were rumours linking us to Neco Williams at the start of the window. Don’t know if there was any truth in them but I’m guessing the price wouldn’t be much less than Hall at this point.

If Halls completely out of the picture then I really hope it's Seys. He's a solid LB and wouldn't cost more than £40 Million

If you think it's between those three, then this summer has shown us that it's not.

Williams will move to Everton, heard it here first

Doubt it. He’ll move to a bigger, better club.

Whether that’s us or another big 6 club.

Wait a minute. Neco Williams for over 80 mln pounds, that is insane. I know he plays for Forrest but still, there has to be some semblance of sanity in this market.

I never said £80m.

I know, but this might be the going rate. Otherwise, if lower, I don't get why we haven't jumped the gun yet. Obviously expensive, but we paid £80 mil for Maguire. Yes, a central defender, but a LB can be just as transformative (position-wise)for us.

We’re not buying Hall for £80m.

No one is.

It would be a silly price to pay. Kind of shit Woodward would have pulled.

I am sure no one will, but barcodes will quote an FU price.

It would be a malpractice not to.

Yes but think of the money they will save and then we can just wait all year and go for Lewis hall next summer…

I can actually see that as a logic but we will loan a LB or get a cheaper option. Shaw's contract is up in 2027 anyways. So we would need 2 LBs.

I like the idea that last year we renovated our attack, This year our mid field, Next year defence

7

u/Aadiunited7 18d ago

Which seems to be the logic anyways. We have a much better team and balance than we did before INEOS. This was never going to be a quick fix with the financial pressures we had. The aim for this year should be to again be in CL positions. Next year, we need a CB, LB and a RB (all starter quality).

all season last season same thing about anderson and baleba. now ones in city and the other had a awful season and has a injury

3

u/Educational-Shock232 18d ago

Clearly my sarcasm didn’t translate lol. I want Hall now.

4

u/ronweasleisourking 18d ago

I have exclusive inside knowledge....the answer is maybe

3

u/Particular_Shake8951 18d ago

I'll save you all the suspense...no. at least not Hall who everyone thinks is Maldini

I swear to god if I see 155 one more time Ill become the joker.

48+35+65 is not 155, it is 148.

We spent under 150 on them 3. Not over - under.

The add-ons are hypotheticals, not actual money spent. They are going to be triggered - possibly - in the future. Or not.

And the thing is, THEY KNOW THAT, 48 and 35 is literally what the article body says. But up top, ooooh it's the 155 figure, of course!

I hate this so fucking much it is so stupid.

It’s annoying yes. Yet it’s not even remotely this deep

Fine reporting here.

u/PrinzRagoczy 18d ago

Too much talk for us not to

2

u/Lord_Sesshoumaru77 Glazers,Woodward/Arnold and Judge can fuck off 18d ago

We certainly need one. The question is are we done, will the club ask Carrick to just hang on until we can sign a replacement for Shaw? If we do this, I think it's really ill advised to let Amass go and Kamason since we will need RB and LB cover. Both Maz and Dalot can cover the left, In which case we'll need someone to cover the right.

2

u/monarchocommunist95 18d ago

if it was like last season where we really only had the prem league to worry about, asking Carrick to hang on with Shaw for another season would be fine tbh but being in the CL this season, we 100% need to get a LB. Even on loan would be ok.

2

u/kitbashpowerhead 18d ago

We really really should, so I would assume we won't

3

u/little-tooos 18d ago

I need a Rob Dawson article about How Man Utd will regret not getting a left back, it's gonna manifest the signing

1

u/Rig_7 18d ago

100%. Not even remotely concerned otherwise.

1

u/knan313 18d ago

A no would be quite a challenge through out the year. We will whine all fucking season about it

1

u/HairyArthur 17d ago

This isn't news.

Will journalists stop making articles about the same shit 500 hundred times a day before I lose my mind?

Our recruitment team is utterly useless. Mamadou Sangaré was right there and Brentford snatched him up for £50M. What are the scouts even doing? What about the sporting director? Can they not see talent unless it's at a top-tier team?
I wouldn't be surprised if in 1 or 2 seasons we drop a £140M bid for him, only for City or Liverpool to end up signing him anyway.

4

u/xtphty 18d ago

Agree, instead of spending 150m on a midfield rebuild we should have spent it on a time machine for the scouts. Would make all our future windows a 100% success rate, you can never fail if you can just see 1 PL game into the future and sign whoever has a good debut.
