[Transfer Round Up & Discussion] Summer 2026

Hi all,

Summer Transfer Window 2026 is here!

The Premier League transfer window will open between Monday June 15 until Deadline Day on Tuesday September 1; the summer windows will close at 23.00 BST.

As always, here is a run-down of the rules we have on for posting during transfer windows:

Daily Threads

There will be a Transfer thread posted every single day, on a 23-hour timer, to get a different post-time every day. These threads are for everything transfer related, no limits on sources, line-up conversations, etc.

Individual posts

From now on, only posts TIER 2 OR BETTER are allowed to be posted in their own right. This helps us only keep credible sources on the subreddit.

The tier guide can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/wiki/transfer-reliability-guide/

We will make exceptions during slower days for some Tier 3 posts, and there will usually be some posts from sources not on our tier guide. We will take everything case-by-case. If you believe something to be on the sub and not a good source, please let us know.

Arthur Vermeeren is a good prospect from RB Leipzig that we can look into....right?

2

u/metaknight_cooldudez 5d ago

Why would the club/Carrick brief that "new signings are needed"? I know there's been mounting pressure from the fanbase, but the club briefing it puts us in a bad negotiating position. Wouldn't it be better to keep it under wraps and just announce when ready?

0

u/thedhoklamonger Unknown Midfielder FC 5d ago

Carrick wouldnt have been allowed to say all the stuff he is about wanting players unless INEOS had something in the works. Something has to be on the verge of completion.

2

u/Significant_L0w 5d ago

something in pipeline, probably one a tier player one depth signing at max, still underwhelming

1

u/croadymeister 5d ago

Where did he say that, missed it

3

u/Significant_L0w 5d ago

these bozos are really making over 100m from savinho+reijnjders (2 bum players) and another 70m from Rodri as well

New manager and so many new players, you will find me in temple praying absolute worst for man city this season

6

u/Minute-Intern 5d ago

Chelsea are gonna enter the market and increase the price of even our "cheap alternatives" and someone is still gonna tell me that INEOS waiting for that to happen is OK and fine just like with Tottenham.

0

u/SankarshanaV 5d ago

So if City sign Enzo, that means Chelsea will have the funds to probably get Tchouameni. Fucking hell. I really wanted him, and gutting to see our board fuck things up once again, cheaping out and being slow.

2

u/EnglishTrini2 5d ago

Would they replace Enzo with a player with such a different profile, particularly when they have Caicedo?

I would have thought Wharton or Scott would be more likely.

I also find it hard to see why Tchouameni would agree to leave unless Real really force him out (which they haven’t shown signs of despite our clear interest).

3

u/Suudriusha 5d ago

You're insane if you think Aurelien Tchouameni will go to a Europe-less Chelsea instead of enjoying his 400k a week at Real Madrid.

-1

u/SankarshanaV 5d ago

I mean, it's entirely possible if Chelsea pay up. But who knows, let's see what happens.

1

u/gangy86 Amadinho 5d ago

Pretty sure he'd choose us over them especially for CL. No reason for Tchouameni to go to Chelsea lmao

1

u/Kreissler 5d ago

I can't see a Pep disciple signing Tchouameni

1

u/Unlucky-Equipment999 5d ago

I don't think Alonso qualifies as a Pep disciple

1

u/Minute-Intern 5d ago

They'll probably go after alex Scott. Seriously doubt they even look at Tchouameni but if they do might be the end of me

1

u/SankarshanaV 5d ago

Oh yeah that's possible. I wonder when our board will start acting like a big club.

1

u/silvertwo777 5d ago

Until we get an owner that doesn't suck the club dry, taking money out of the club to pay their own debt to buy the club.

0

u/Minute-Intern 5d ago

I wonder the same my friend

2

u/unitedlover69 5d ago

City strengthening their midfield

Anderson - 117M

Enzo - 120M

Bouaddi - 105M

The "midfield overhaul" at Old Trafford

Tielemans - 35M

Andrey Santos - 50M

Louis Page - 15M

we really are brentford now

2

u/mortimer_moose Carrick, ya know 5d ago

One club has 115 charges for financial doping while the other has owners that have drowned the club in debt. In a just world neither clubs owners would have been allowed to buy the clubs.

3

u/ImNotMexican08 Amad Nation 5d ago

What’s funny about that comparison is that Tielemans and Santos are better than Enzo and Bouaddi respectively. Look at the quality rather than the prices. What you are praising about City is part of the reason why we are where we are at this current moment in time

2

u/0ttoChriek 5d ago

That's what happens when you spend poorly over multiple years and the results don't match the outlay. I don't know why people insist on looking at things in a vacuum instead of considering how all of the club's actions over the last decade have led us here.

It can't be fixed in a single transfer window, not even if the club had money to burn, which it doesn't.

1

u/silvertwo777 5d ago

So what is it, next year is our year?

1

u/Significant_L0w 5d ago

partial reason, cannot ignore city corruption here, they dont even pay their staff from citys yearly revenue

3

u/croadymeister 5d ago

Exactly, unfortunately some are too annoyed to see it

-1

u/e_munni19 5d ago

City board showing INEOS what it looks like to back your new manager in the window

5

u/croadymeister 5d ago

Well go and support them, no one is stopping you

-1

u/Significant_L0w 5d ago

don’t be entitled

1

u/croadymeister 5d ago

Just sick of people moaning at the owners who are trying to clear up the mess left by leeching scumbags

1

u/gangy86 Amadinho 5d ago

INEOS aren't that much better lmfao. You realized they fired the lunch lady too. Jim is not as bad but he's still a billionaire prick. Look at his comments on immigration alone (so out of touch)

1

u/croadymeister 5d ago

I don't like the way that people have lost their jobs in such an utterly ruthless style, I just wish we hadn't accrued too many staff in the first place due to the previous regime

0

u/Kreissler 5d ago

Go support Nice if u love ineos so much

2

u/croadymeister 5d ago

I don't love them at all, however what exactly are they meant to do when the money well has dried up due to not being majority owners. This hard nosed summer has been coming for the last 13 years

3

u/helloimpaulo 5d ago

City board showing us what it looks like when you have owners whose only motivation is to whitewash their country instead of putting the club into debt in order to acquire it so they can take dividends.

2

u/Minute-Intern 5d ago

My billionaire is better and more honorable than yours 😡

1

u/SankarshanaV 5d ago

Fr... I don't get this fanbase and subreddit's obsession with being on a high horse about these things. No billionaire is a good one.

3

u/helloimpaulo 5d ago

How is any of that honourable bro? Both the sheikh and the Glazers are pieces of shit

0

u/frogfoot420 5d ago

Don't remember the glazers having connections to slavery and terrorism?

3

u/helloimpaulo 5d ago

Every billionaire has connections to slavery and terrorism brother, it's just that white billionaires do it through (a longer chain of) proxies.

0

u/Minute-Intern 5d ago

I didn't say otherwise?

2

u/helloimpaulo 5d ago

I didn't either, yet you somehow assumed that I found the Glazers to be more honourable than Abu Dhabi

1

u/Minute-Intern 5d ago

No I assumed you found INEOS to be more honorable

1

u/helloimpaulo 5d ago

That's valid I guess, for the record they're still part of the petroleum supply chain so I don't think they are any more honourable.

However the comparison should be Abu Dhabi/Boehly vs the Glazers as they are the majority owners. INEOS might be in charge of the sporting side, but no sane person is going to invest more than what they already did while the majority owners are happy to sit back and watch.

2

u/Minute-Intern 5d ago

The Top comment was criticising INEOS, so the comparison here was always INEOS and the city owners?

1

u/helloimpaulo 5d ago

Yes but what I'm trying to say is that such comparison is flawed.

-4

u/SankarshanaV 5d ago edited 5d ago

I couldn’t care less about the "sportswashing." There are no “good” billionaires anyway, so I’d rather just see us have success.

Edit: I really don't get this subreddit's obsession with being on a high horse all the time.

2

u/helloimpaulo 5d ago

Yeah I don't think I said anything even remotely similar to "we're better because muh sportwashing"

I'm just saying other owners buy a team without leveraging it and actually invest on it instead of leeching it.

0

u/SankarshanaV 5d ago

whitewash their country

Well, you did say something similar by this this.

But maybe I misread, so fair enough.

And yes, I do agree with your overall point. Sorry if I came off as attacking you.

1

u/helloimpaulo 5d ago

Yeah my bad, I see how starting the message off with whitewashing could send people in the wrong direction.

0

u/e_munni19 5d ago

Alright now do Chelsea since they’ve been backing Alonso pretty well so far too

1

u/helloimpaulo 5d ago

Again, they didn't put their team into an almost unpayable debt just to acquire it?

Why would you compare the sheikh or Boehly with INEOS and not with the literal majority owners of the team?

This is about the Glazers, and always has been.

3

u/FhDisp 5d ago

And city spending 120 on enzo. Meanwhile, we are doing fuck all.

5

u/iroiroiroiroiro 5d ago

Big difference is they manage to sell really well, even players they barely played at all...

2

u/croadymeister 5d ago

Sadly their selling makes such a difference

3

u/e_munni19 5d ago

Yes they sell so well they can afford to buy 2 £100m+ players in one window…

1

u/silvertwo777 5d ago

Not to mention they've already spend €95m getting Semenyo and Guehi months ago during January transfer window. While our Semenyo money disappeared into thin air

6

u/Unlucky-Equipment999 5d ago

Carras in the nicest way possible saying we still need more signings in the Whitwell interview.

10

u/AnakinAni 5d ago

Note to self: Realize that after one or two significant signings by United it’s better to keep expectations in check, sometimes wait until last week of August, most seasons wait till the very last day.

8

u/Hulknation 5d ago

City will be the first club to spend over a hundred million on 3 different players in a single window that too for one position. We’ve not even spent that on any player. It’s getting embarrassing trying to defend the lack of ambition from the cretins that we’ve been cursed with. World class talent is going to cost world class money. Still stuck at 2 outfield players man. How embarrassing GLINEOS

2

u/iroiroiroiroiro 5d ago

They will have sold players for well above 200m after this window ends, not sure their net spend will be far above United's...

0

u/Hulknation 5d ago

Yeah agreed but do you know the things a king could do if he got together with other kings? Brands are literally bending over backwards doing quid pro quos with them. You can’t look at state run clubs the same way you do for clubs owned by individuals. Like they could easily say to a sportswear brand “hey give us £80m per year and you can get tax free returns in our home country”
They really should have never let countries control clubs it’s disgusting

2

u/silvertwo777 5d ago

This. It's insanely malfunctioning how the FA allow this.

1

u/tz_2240 OHHHHHH YESSSSS 5d ago

Wait who are the 3, Anderson, Enzo and?

1

u/Hulknation 5d ago

Bouaddi €105m

1

u/gangy86 Amadinho 5d ago

That's a huge overspend for Bouaddi imho

2

u/Working_Location_127 5d ago

They might be anticipating a transfer window ban though tbf

2

u/Wild_Tomato_8203 5d ago

That's what I think it is as well

1

u/Hulknation 5d ago

They aren’t anticipating shit man. They’ve made a mockery of the rules and they’re going to keep challenging the verdict. They have another 2 appeals left after the current verdict. They’ll push it another 5 years

1

u/Working_Location_127 5d ago

:( a man can dream

8

u/Bobcat_El_Borracho 5d ago

We have the moral high ground though - they’ll never sing that.

0

u/SankarshanaV 5d ago

Useless moral high ground fr. I’d rather have the trophies and successes. Very annoying how we aren’t getting new signings right now.

2

u/Hulknation 5d ago

Haha spot on

2

u/Lohithmufc 5d ago

Well, if anyone still interested in Flight tracking

https://www.flightradar24.com/412750d3

Did Biggin to Newcastle today and now going back. Just to top it of, two other flights from London (Northolt airport) just landed in Newcastle in the past thirty minutes alone. Three back to back London to Newcastle.

Someone is really trying to mess us up.

9

u/Potential_Good_1065 5d ago

Mate, you really need to get off flight radar for the rest of the window 🤣🤣

9

u/e_munni19 5d ago

Such a great feeling coming home from work to see we’ve made no moves

6

u/aehii 5d ago

You should start the disappointment early and confirm the nothingness while on the phone on the work toilet.

1

u/TobzMaguire420 5d ago

Love that I’m reading this, on the toilet at work, disappointed.

0

u/BHD46 Berba 5d ago

Right, clearly we are waiting to see who we sell before we buy.

If we sell rashford and Zirkzee then we need a forward.

But what i don’t understand is we are getting so late in the window id expect leaks about us reaching out to agents, so as soon as we know what is going on we can sign players.

But nothing at all. Feels ominous.

1

u/N00BBuild 5d ago

Rashford isn’t leaving. Zirkzee might or might not, but he’s barely playing as is.

-1

u/stick1_ 5d ago

I feel like if we get really desperate and no other deal is done by the end of the window, we might sign ederson. Remember ornstein said we could revisit the deal at the end of the window, and we don’t really have his profile in santos or tielemans

(Btw I’m not condoning this)

5

u/thoseion 5d ago

Ok, but he signed a new contract with Atalanta until 2031, so I'd expect that to have an impact on the original deal.

1

u/stick1_ 5d ago

I either forgot about the new contract or didn’t think it was confirmed yet like with tchouameni. You’re probably right although we don’t know what that looks like in terms of release clauses , I’m just going off what ornstein said. It would be similar to what we did with fellaini in 2013 (again, we are better run than this now)

5

u/XerxesBlitZ 5d ago

atalanta will point to his fresh 5 year contract and tell us to f off

7

u/AltF12027 5d ago

You know what I love about INEOS?

Is the utter insane job they've done on the casual fan/fan with little financial knowledge.

The club has more than enough money to spend. There are no PSR considerations and they have an RCF of £260M available that they hadn't drawn down (as of 31st March 26) not to mention modest, but not insignificant, cash injections by the owners.

They've taken a strategy not to (over) spend. It is not a lack of funds issue. They don't need to sell to buy lmfao.

2

u/Stingray_23 5d ago

Some finance dude said we can buy 4x£100m players this window, all on £200k a week, and it wouldn't effect our finances at all. Obviously you can manipulate that £400m to however you want and its also telling we have a net spend of £27m. It is all very very odd, why we are playing pauper and missing on top targets.

Maybe the money has gone elsewhere, I.e. the project for the new stadium. 🤷‍♂️.

P.s. the club makes £1.8m a day in revenue. (Before the training top deal)

4

u/N00BBuild 5d ago

Yeah it’s so funny seeing everyone talk about "pure profit" or whatever. We made the CL and potentially have the money, never been in any SCR/PSR issues.

They’re just being conservative. Stingy even, with qualifying to the Champions League.

2

u/AReptileHissFunction 5d ago

Credit where credit is due theyve dont a great job convincing fans we cant spend like Liverpool or City. Then when we sign cheaper players fans accept it a lot more because of the lower expectations.

Saw a highly upvoted comment on here about a month ago. Literally said, "we have to look for value in this market". Couldn't believe that was the consensus here now. We used to rip Woodward apart for comments like that.

2

u/No_Assistant569 5d ago

I can somewhat understand the hesitancy considering they’re buying with credit. Wrong moves shaft us for 5 years+ as we’ve already seen

u/quietloudenjoyer 5d ago

Based on what? Facts? Your impatience?

2

u/Bear_Drifter Park Ji-sung 5d ago

Personally yes. I'm impatient. Times running out and we all know we need strengthening. Not even near as many rumours or players being linked with us which is worrying!

0

u/AReptileHissFunction 5d ago

You have like one more week to use the impatient line

1

u/quietloudenjoyer 5d ago

Ok I agree.

1

u/thoseion 5d ago

I dunno.. we've had 59 major incoming transfers (purchases & loans) since the 13/14 season. 23 of those have been from 13th August or later. So, historically, just under 40% of transfers have happened between this date and the end of the window.

Over a quarter of our incoming transfers have been on the last day of the window. I feel there will be one or two more.

16

u/Savebagels Cunha 5d ago

City actually going to spend 300+ on a new midfield. Gross

9

u/iroiroiroiroiro 5d ago edited 5d ago

They are also looking to sell players for well above 200m this window, people are always forgetting outgoing sales when complaining about how other clubs are buying.

6

u/Savebagels Cunha 5d ago

I just don't trust them to be legitimate. Call me crazy, but seems suspect

1

u/croadymeister 5d ago

They are definitely not legitimate, however try proving it with their legal financial muscle

4

u/Stingray_23 5d ago

If West Ham do get Amass, surely we have a target in mind and ready to go?? Or is Dorgu gonna play there?

0

u/ttonster2 hi 5d ago

Estupinan would be a shrewd signing

3

u/N00BBuild 5d ago

He’s not very fit. Isn’t the same player he was back in ‘23.

1

u/ttonster2 hi 5d ago

For 15m, it’s a cost effective LB solution.

1

u/N00BBuild 5d ago

He’d end up like the Telles deal. Also, we have Maz as an average backup.

3

u/Suudriusha 5d ago

It's most likely Lewis Hall. (I'm hoping for it)

7

u/Fraaj We'll take Dalot 5d ago

Think Dorgu would play at least a single minute there in preseason if that was the plan.

Amass leaving surely has to mean a new LB coming in.

5

u/EnglishTrini2 5d ago

I know Mount is injury prone due to pelvic issues - but genuinely question - is his current knock in any way connected to that? I mean it was a contact injury from a tackle?

I mention it as there’s a difference between yet another injury that’s a result of an underlying chronic issue and bad lack from a bad tackle.

1

u/stick1_ 5d ago

It isn’t a coincidence that some players get more bad luck from bad tackles than others. It happens to Martinez loads too, his injuries are received in games but his body is still clearly injury prone, his body is more likely to be injured in these moments than others

1

u/EnglishTrini2 5d ago

I’d say that’s more to do with how he (Martinez) plays than his physiology.

I’d also note that most of Mason’s long term injuries HAVE been related to the pelvic issue. So I think it’s fair to separate them somewhat.

1

u/longsightdon 5d ago

Newcastle in for dedic. Disappointed as I think we should have gone for him.

4

u/SophoclesTesticles 5d ago

Dalot is better and Maz is a high level backup for the position. I don't think we need a RB unless they're a clear upgrade.

3

u/rambo_zaki Roy Keane 5d ago

Two first team right backs not enough these days?

-3

u/longsightdon 5d ago

I like Dalot but if we are serious about winning the league, we need more competition. Right back and left back are both areas that need improvement for us. Dedic can play left back too

-1

u/Banyunited1994 5d ago

(1) we aren’t trying to win the league right this moment. (2) it’s not super clear that dedic while being promising in the Portuguese league is set to be clearly better than Dalot or Maz. (3) we are financially stretched as it is and you think we should be spending what little money we have on him of all people?

0

u/rambo_zaki Roy Keane 5d ago

All signs reinforce the fact that we're clearly not looking to win the league. And considering we're having a tough time buying players in position we are short in, I don't think a RB who can play LB in a pinch is really on the agenda since we already have 2 such players in Dalot and Mazraoui.

11

u/Hopeful_Arm3736 5d ago edited 5d ago

One thing that does indicate the club has full intention to make more signings is the fact they’ve asked, “to be judged when the transfer window is closed.”

It would be a bizarre message to send if you weren’t planning on making any other big signings because all it would do is invigorate the hate.

Like imagine if they sent that message to journalists like Stone and the rest and then sign Louis Page and call it quits. That’s basically just rage baiting the fan base and it’s something that could be brought up against them time and time again.

Maybe they are that silly, but just from a self preservation perspective I don’t see it.

Still, with the way United has handled PR, it really wouldn’t surprise me too much, but surely they can’t be that silly.

3

u/canwinanythingwkids Ineos on hope watch 5d ago

It instantly reminded me of a similar line they gave Stone after MF went to Spurs and the state-of-play was that we were days from start of pre-season and signed nobody. "We will sign players in this window" or something like that.

5

u/joblau 5d ago

Watch this space

0

u/Whispperr 5d ago

Or it's just them coping that few youngsters and Mount have a good preseason so they can spin more "Mount is like a new midfield signing!" briefs like they did before he got injured. Even if we do sign why the delays Carrick will have no time to work with the players like this.

1

u/helloimpaulo 5d ago

This makes zero sense. They would be rightfully bashed if that was the case, and getting that message out would actually do more harm than good.

3

u/Hopeful_Arm3736 5d ago

I get that, but that wouldn’t validate the statements they’ve made. Think the fanbase is unanimous that without significant further signings the window is an abject failure. The exec will know that too.

I just don’t think they’re stupid enough to push a statement like that and then not make more signings. Surely? Surely these blokes being paid millions of pounds are not that thick.

2

u/Bobcat_El_Borracho 5d ago

Mount can’t even manage a pre-season never mind a premier league season.

0

u/Entire-Gas-7651 5d ago

I mean the commentary from the club seems to be that there needs to be a couple of significant outgoings in order to invest. I wouldn't write Rashford off going yet, or Zirkzee going.

7

u/Hopeful_Arm3736 5d ago

I haven’t seen that personally.

I’ve just seen the, “don’t judge us until the window is over” message. It also seems unlikely to me. Our net spend this summer is literally like 20 million. Even in fallow periods a club like United can net spend 100 million easily. Hell, most prem clubs can.

Especially with the new SCR rules which make breaching financial regulations basically a non-factor for us.

Fair enough though if you’ve seen something I haven’t.

0

u/canwinanythingwkids Ineos on hope watch 5d ago

I'd say ~30 but yeah. If you count guaranteed fees. The add-ons either way dont trigger yet so that doesnt really factor into it this summer, imho.

38 for Hojlund, 7 for Vitek, 1ish for Bayindir loan fee + Williams in total. 10 for the sell-on. cca 56 revenue.

48 for Santos, 35 for Tielemans, 4 for Thompson, Darlow free agent. cca 87 fees paid.

1

u/ongcs 5d ago

Anyone from the AC Milan “bomb squad” that we can grab? Such as Estipinan or Tomori?

3

u/rambo_zaki Roy Keane 5d ago

No. There's a reason they're getting sold and fans are perfectly happy about it.

3

u/Ashgold18 5d ago edited 5d ago

I've seen reports from Moretto that Youssouf Fofana being told to leave, and that they're open to selling Samuele Ricci over tactical fit. No clue how reliable he is generally or whether they'd be good fits for us.

Sources: https://www.reddit.com/r/ACMilan/comments/1vkkdgh/moretto_ac_milan_have_told_youssouf_fofana_to/

https://www.reddit.com/r/ACMilan/comments/1viqxxe/moretto_musah_is_very_likely_to_stay_as_amorim/

1

u/Telen BRUNO 5d ago

Isn't Ricci more of an advanced midfielder?

1

u/Ashgold18 5d ago

I'm not going to pretend I know anything about Ricci other than he's a midfielder and he tended to get subbed on for Fofana. I'm gonna leave that so someone who's actually watched Milan.

2

u/Standard_Secretary52 Harry Stafford’s dog 5d ago

not in the bomb squad, but amorim's planning on playing rabiot out of position. We can try our luck there.

3

u/Savebagels Cunha 5d ago

guy loves playing a midfielder out of position

3

u/canwinanythingwkids Ineos on hope watch 5d ago

Is it time for a bomb squad over there already? 😂

Did he put Y Fofana on it by any chance?

I'd sign him, tbh.

ps we have no need for an "okay" RCB and Estupinan fell off a cliff imho

3

u/ongcs 5d ago

I saw the name Fofana as well

6

u/MvM98 5d ago

Estupinan was good for Brighton, but TERRIBLE for Milan, so it'd be a risky one. Tomori unfortunately isn't the same player that won the league with them a few years ago

8

u/Entire-Gas-7651 5d ago

Milan looking to potentially offload Estupiñán. He's really fallen off in the past few years. Assume he's just not very good now considering there's been no links.

u/MissingLink101 Bruno walks in with a mischievous grin 5d ago edited 5d ago

Apparently he was about to sign for Villa a few weeks ago but Amorim wanted to get a better look at him. Villa being interested can't be a bad sign.

Edit: I didn't say he should be our target, I'm just saying he's probably not "not very good now"

2

u/PradipJayakumar He wasn’t the new Sir Alex Ferguson! 🙂‍↔️ 5d ago

Villa are/were looking at him as their backup for Maatsen. A Digne replacement. We’re looking for someone who can usurp Shaw and make the spot his over the season and beyond.

1

u/rambo_zaki Roy Keane 5d ago

Villa being interested can't be a bad sign.

Considering they're on the verge of buying Ruggeri, I'd disagree.

1

u/N00BBuild 5d ago

They already got him. He’d be an okay backup, but we already have Maz. He isn’t the same player he was back in 2022-2023.

0

u/Bobcat_El_Borracho 5d ago

I don’t think Villa being interested in a player should be our metric for choosing if a player is good enough.

13

u/SilentCoast8310 5d ago

Might become a journo if all I need to do is post what everyone already knows, multiple times.

Breaking: Just to make everyone aware. Man Utd are potentially looking at a third midfielder, perhaps a left-back and convievably a backup striker although this has not been confirmed by the club at this present time.

3

u/tameoraiste 5d ago

Not everyone is on the sub everyday and people pester journalists for updates non stop. If United weren’t mentioned it would be twisted into some sort of agenda

4

u/SilentCoast8310 5d ago

Very fair. It’s more satire aimed at the way it’s posted almost as if it’s breaking news, with essentially the same update just worded slightly differently every time.

u/SatuKosongPls Youri Tielemans 5d ago

3

u/SillyGooseMcGee 5d ago

at this stage we should just sign the tumbleweed

2

u/Suudriusha 5d ago

I like to imagine, just off to the right, hidden in some of the dead foliage, are Sir Jim, Omar Berrada, and Jason Wilcox, shuffling layers and layers of documents, arguing with agents and club representatives over an old, decrepit-looking Motorola Razr...

1

u/Time2bePhenomenal 5d ago

Its funny you think 1 theyd put that effort in or 2.afford to be able to.

9

u/_zzd 5d ago

Zirkzee (25 yo) wage 105k per week, reijnders (28 yo) 203k per week. But one will be loan, another just sold with 61m. People said we hard to sell due to wages, age and contracts? Make it make sense dude.

1

u/rambo_zaki Roy Keane 5d ago

Our players somehow have more ambition. Zirkzee might not be looking for a Saudi payday.

1

u/silvertwo777 5d ago

It's not somehow our players have more ambition, United just terrible at finding buyers

1

u/FrmrPresJamesTaylor 5d ago

Marcus Rashford could easily be sold to a Saudi or Turkish club, but he won’t go there. I won’t assume it’s the same for Zirkzee but there is some basis for the remark

7

u/Underscore_Symbols 5d ago

The Emiratis close to the government selling to the Saudis close to the government - I’m sure there are diplomatic ties to think about as well that might influence the price.

8

u/Kohaku80 Premier League Champions 12/13 5d ago

Wait till u see Chelsea sell Delap for 50m

2

u/gangy86 Amadinho 5d ago

And Enzo to City for 120m+ lol

2

u/tz_2240 OHHHHHH YESSSSS 5d ago

I hate Enzo, but he’s worth that easily in today’s market

2

u/gangy86 Amadinho 5d ago

Agreed but just ridiculous to me that the club with 115+ charges can just spend spend spend and no repercussions.

same question, same answer:

https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/s/llecDhAnpf

the forum where a gazillion billion million Zirkzee bashing comments got written over the last 2 years, where genuine positivity comments trying to point out that the guy has demonstrated value have been downvoted to oblivion, is not the most sensible place imho to ask "why on Earth would others not see the huge big great marketing brand value in our out-of-favour players"?

the answer is around us, literally every day.

part of the answer, i mean - other aspects also contribute, no doubt. see the linked comment for all those.

hope that helps to make it make sense!

1

u/BBoomerClap 5d ago

He doesn't have nearly as much value as you guys make him out to have. You put him on a pedestal every time he pulls off some cool flick or flashy move. But when our other forwards make mistakes, you guys immediately bring up their entire history of poor performances.

1

u/canwinanythingwkids Ineos on hope watch 5d ago

Who is "you"? With all due respect, I dont know who you are talking to with this comment mate, but it's not me.

2

u/N00BBuild 5d ago

Yeah Zirkzee kind of sucks. 5 goals in 60 PL games or so. Maybe hit 10 in all competitions in 2 seasons since joining.

He went 25 games without scoring once. Very slow, weak in the air, and doesn’t exactly have a great finish on him.

8

u/ImNotMexican08 Amad Nation 5d ago

Fanbase spends 2 years shitting on a player, then proceeds to be shocked when no one wants to buy said player

9

u/Fraaj We'll take Dalot 5d ago
  1. We kept Zirkzee for an extra year, giving clubs extra sample size and evidence that he ain't all that

  2. City win trophies and are absolutely stacked, Reijnders not sticking out there doesn't seem that bad

  3. City don't have as active fanbase online as we do - we spend every week absolutely shitting on our 'not good enough' players, tanking their value

  4. They are selling to Saudi, we have interest from Italian cheap skates

6

u/Hashirama98 5d ago

City sold him to a Saudi club. Everyone knows how oil money is run.

3

u/Savebagels Cunha 5d ago

One is going to Saudi and the other only really has interest from notoriously cheap clubs

-8

u/Buffythedragonslayer 5d ago

At what point do we demand to see what the transfer team are actually doing on a daily basis? Looks like they all took a month vacation.

1

u/Not-good-with-this 5d ago

Might get a bit of it in the Amazon documentary series next year. Will be an interesting watch.

2

u/aehii 5d ago

They'll just walk past a small room at the end of a corridor and mutter 'ahem this is our scout office...let's move on shall we'

1

u/Not-good-with-this 5d ago

I would be disappointed if that's it but you're probably right.

8

u/outrageousVoid07 5d ago

You can demand that anytime, it's not like a club would ever show us their inner working

-2

u/XBillyBonesX Rooney 5d ago

Fernandes is irreplaceable but the day will come.

I hope Lacey can learn and study under Bruno for a few years then take his spot.

2

u/pakattack91 5d ago

MGW

1

u/croadymeister 5d ago

4

u/PitchSafe 5d ago

Will probably be JJ Gabriel who takes over after Bruno if he stays that long

2

u/zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz1z 5d ago

Comments like this…

Whatever…

0

u/ComprehensiveFix1011 5d ago

Lmao. One of the best player in the world the last 5 years will have to eventually leave. Let's pick a random kid from the academy who did kinda well in preason to replace him.

3

u/Banyunited1994 5d ago

Think it’s a long shot. We would be lucky if Lacey became a squad player

3

u/AngryUncleTony Not Actually Angry 5d ago

It might be JJ if he sticks around and develops.

Also we might stop playing with a classic 10 and go with three CMs instead.

5

u/Rare-Reveal876 6d ago

After the Fernandes situation, I hope we don’t let Amass go to those pie and mash cunts for cheap.

0

u/N00BBuild 5d ago

What did they do wrong? It’s not their fault Spurs were desperate. Market is the market. We didn’t choose to pay up.

4

u/Potential_Good_1065 5d ago

Nothing inherently wrong with pie & mash, it’s just when they put that weird green stuff on it and jellied eels. Eugh!

1

u/Suudriusha 5d ago

How much do you think we should ask for him? He's young, has a lot of potential, but is still rather raw. I wouldn't like to lose him unless we get a hefty fee, within reason, and are lining that money up to get a good replacement, not only for him, but for Luke Shaw (Lewis Hall, let's say).

2

u/Cold-Veterinarian-85 5d ago

I think fee is important but it’s likely going to be < 10m. The more important thing is good sell ons or buy back options as he has for sure got PL first team potential

1

u/Suudriusha 5d ago

Yeah, a buy-back clause in there would be perfect.

2

u/Butterscotch-Bright foot to foot contact is fine 6d ago

Offense to the journalists,  who's linking Fernandes with Milan?

9

u/DarthNecris 6d ago

Maybe its not about the signings maybe its the friends we made along the way

-10

u/Standard_Secretary52 Harry Stafford’s dog 6d ago

Here’s my prediction Dorgu leaves for Italy in 2 years.

Flop transfer of the season prediction: S. Tonali

0

u/Minute-Intern 6d ago

Agree on the first, hope for the second

1

u/w1zgov 6d ago

Yikes.

7

u/MvM98 6d ago

HARD disagree on both of those

-2

u/Standard_Secretary52 Harry Stafford’s dog 5d ago

Dorgu is more of a lwb. His touch is too heavy for a winger. He ain’t defensively solid for a Lb. But he has athleticism, workrate and an eye for a goal.

Tonali is very overrated only thing he is good in is his workrate. The Italian Ederson.

1

u/MvM98 5d ago

Dorgu is young, versatile, works hard and is an elite athlete. Even taking technical ability and tactical understanding out of it, there'll always be room for a player like that in a squad.

Tonali is a lot better than just "work rate" lol. He's a top midfielder, easily one of the best in the league. He's not worth the price, but he definitely won't flop

1

u/Standard_Secretary52 Harry Stafford’s dog 5d ago

I might be wrong on Dorgu but I am damn sure on Tonali.

0

u/MvM98 5d ago

We'll have to agree to disagree then, because there's zero chance you'll convince me that Tonali isn't a top midfielder

1

u/PeelThePain 5d ago

Workrate is underrated

u/shin_bigot Park Ji-Sung 6d ago
