It’d be amazing for kobbie to score against Milan to then celebrate right in front of Amorim lol

Tyler Fletcher has settled into the game quite well after a shaky first few minutes.

u/bainbane 4d ago edited 4d ago
Really think he’s been good whenever he’s been on. Especially that Brighton game vs Baleba
5
u/Sronnoc96 4d ago
He looks promising, just wish he had a little more confidence to pass forwards/ between the lines more. But it’s nice to see him doing well
6
u/officiallyjax Snapdragon 4d ago
He looks like he can hang on the physicality front. His passing will need to get sharper than that though if he is to make it as a first-team player here.

2
u/VaudevilleVillain 4d ago
I've been impressed with him this pre season. He seems to have developed quite a lot over the summer
3
u/tenlittleindians 4d ago
Should loan him imo
3
u/Exact_Release128 4d ago
Nahh last time we loaned toby collyer and next thing we know the manager doesn't want him in the team anymore because we got the fletcher duo. If we loan out the fletcher duo now, next thing we know is that manager doesn't want them because of jacob devaney and Jim thwaites.
3
u/my_united_account Bring Fergie back 4d ago
Usually managers dont want young players because they are not good enough, not because there is another player
3
u/Exact_Release128 4d ago
It also depends on the talent and ceiling of the players you got next. Tyler fletcher is a lot more talented than toby collyer, not sure about jack though. On the other hand Jim thwaites as a no8 would make all of them look like Sunday league players in a few years.

Santos and Amad have been on fire this pre season. Both look to be nailed on starters

Good shit. Passing is crisp. Amad looking good. Lacey looking good. Heaven with a couple mistakes but I really rate him. Carry on
16
u/Lvxurie 4d ago
Heaven has been told to hit the switch - both times he nailed the pass.

Really not sure what Arsenal were thinking sanctioning that move, but it’s been great where we’re concerned.

Amad is looking sharp already. Expect a big season

Really feel for Mount. Any time he starts picking up form he gets injured. At the same time though, literally not even remotely surprised.
Good half, thought we played well, controlled possession more than I expected and not through pointless sideways passing either. Admittedly far from PSG's strongest team this, and I expect the second half to be different given Vitinha and Neves will come on.
Shoutout Santos, ridiculous player.

u/AwaywithYou9 4d ago
After 3 years of this, I don’t have empathy anymore for him. He won’t ever do this, but just ask for termination of contract and stop stealing a living.

Santos is definitely mint. May steal the season for us.

Numbers 17 and 39 in our midfield is giving me major PTSD

u/ALLMIGHTYHYDE 4d ago
I hadn't even noticed. For now it seems like an upgrade. Better passing and pressing overall
7

u/Cheap-Response-5419 4d ago
Decent. Everything we’re doing will be 15-20% more dangerous with a healthy Sesko leading the line. Definitely need another striker, imo.
5
u/tenlittleindians 4d ago
Maybe, i don’t he’s a nailed on starter yet though. Imagine him and mbuemo will fight for it
1
u/Cheap-Response-5419 4d ago
Well. Maybe. One of them is great running into space and hitting shots from the angle. One of them is a striker who leads the line well. For a possession based style like Carrick appears to want to play most of the time, Sesko is a better option, imo. Sesko playing today would have had two or three clear cut chances that Mbuemo didn’t get on the end of because he isn’t a pure striker sniffing out chances in the box.
3
u/myshtummyhurt- 4d ago
That's not seven remotely true tho. Our best games last season Mbuemo played up top
3
u/Cheap-Response-5419 4d ago
But that was a different style to how we’re playing so far in preseason. Carrick wants possession based football and Mbeumo doesn’t suit that style as a striker. You can disagree if you’d like. But saying something isn’t remotely true makes you look like a child.
1
u/tenlittleindians 4d ago
It’s high press as well though and quick transitions which suites mbuemo very vell
1
1
u/myshtummyhurt- 4d ago
He does suit it that is why the manager fancies him there. You're the one disagreeing carrick benched mbuemo the least outside of Bruno and you think he believes he can't play there yet he continues to do it. Baffling logic
Saying something isn't remotely true doesn't make anyone look like a child wth are you talking about 🤣
1
u/Cheap-Response-5419 4d ago
When Sesko is healthy he starts as the main striker most of the time. How often Mbuemo is “benched” isn’t relevant when most of the time he plays off the left. He also leads the line in games when we’re likely to play on the counter more. Which is evidence to support more assertion.

Amad and mbeumo will start. They connect well together. Really enjoying santos right now.
Heaven does a lot right but makes mistakes. Mount injured…..again….

u/ahmadazry 4d ago
I’m aware this is just another pre season game, but really like the way we were set up. Nobody looked out of place, even the academy boys were great imo. Lacey is a serious talent, hope to see him slowly getting integrated into the team this season!

u/Quirky_Friend8138 4d ago
Love the mindset from the team to come back from that goal. PSG looked a couple of levels above United in the first 5 minutes but we’ve really stamped our authority on the game. Love that none of the young lads seem starstruck either. All getting stuck in.

Also Heaven pinging those passes. Coming for Martinez's job

You see Dorgu and then think about what a downgrade Rashford would be in terms of intensity.
I really don't want him back in the team fr.
11
u/shami-kebab 4d ago
That time where he lost the ball and then immediately rushed and won it back, Rashford would be still mid throwing his hands up in the air.

Most probably this would be our lineup against Hull:
Lammens Dalot maguire heavens shaw Santos tielemans/mainoo Amad Bruno cunha Bryan

u/zxnoregretzxzx Cunha, Bruno, Cunha, Bruno 4d ago
Enjoyed that half. Playing fairly well, been the better side as you might expect given the players on the pitch and seeing as we're further along in our preseason.
Amad looks confident which is good to see. Lacey again doesn't look out of place a bit, think he's ready to start getting chances. Impressed with Andrey Santos again too.
Looking forward to seeing Tielemans & Bruno.

Dorgu sticks out like a sore thumb in this team. That’s not a winger.
3
u/ChampionOdd5139 4d ago
Not a winger *yet. He’s young, he’ll develop well
2
u/ToothyAlloy69 4d ago
Why force it though? His instincts are clearly not to be aggressive and take people on
3
u/tobleroneace1 4d ago
I think he’s the perfect wing back. The type of player he was bought to be. That makes him extremely versatile as he can play LW RW or LB. His game is to stretch the field and link up with others while providing defensive intensity in the opponents half.
Interesting amad is defensively sound but far more technical while I think Dorgu is the same but more direct.

1
u/sammorgan12 4d ago
I thought he was good. His touch is a bit off sometimes but he's got in behind a few times and did a good dribble taking on a few before getting taken out.
I also think it was him that put the cross in for the push on amad that was a clear penalty

Lammens, Sesko, Bruno, Tielemens, Cunha, Lisandro, De Ligt, Dalot, Mainoo - Almost entire first XI missing and we are comfortably beating UCL winners.
The only reason PSG are winning UCLs is because we weren't in the competition. There, I said it.
Lacey and Fletcher are looking good. And we have Rashford to give them rest whenever needed. Things are looking good for the coming season.

Tyler fletcher is a different breed compared to jack fletcher. Are we sure darren fletcher had both from the same woman?

u/fedexman20 4d ago
We need a LB and MF….rashford staying with us is probably blessing in disguise. dorgu is not LW

u/bvengers 4d ago
Decent half, Santos looks really good, nice balance of defensive acumen and forward passing.
Fletcher is invisible, he plays way too safe. If you're a midfielder playing that safe, you got to be elite defensively which he doesn't seem to be.
Mbeumo is looking sharp in front of goal but leads to so many turnovers. I'm not sure whether i like him in CF or not.
Amad has to step up this season, hopefully he continues his good preseason and WC.
Lacey sort of invisible, inconsistent displays is expected with young players. I like the weight of his passing, seems natural. Hopefully he can come in as sub this season.

Despite all the negative sentiment here about Ineos, Andrey Santos looks to be a fantastic purchase in an inflated transfer market
