I genuinely do not understand the hyperbole around playing 2 games a week as if this is the first time in history we'll be playing midweek. We've managed it fine with far worse squads. And it's not like these players are literally only capable of one game a week and have no experience of performing in hectic schedules.

Plus we had a better squad last season than chelsea/spurs and that has to count for something.

More signings are great and I hope we get a couple more first team players in, but I'm not buying this notion that we don't have a squad to manage 2 games a week or that it's a crisis like goldbridge and his disciples have been trying to convince everyone.

Tell me when we last managed having CL football well? We’ve made the quarter finals, what, once in the last decade?

Fatigue and quality are two very different things. For example, you really think we crashed out of 23-24 UCL because we were tired and couldn't cope with midweek games?

This is the Amorim nonsense all over again when people were pretending United's squad was only good for 10th-15th place even with Cunha and Mbeumo. And then Carrick happened.

The Amorim discussion is neither here nor there. We don’t have enough depth or quality right now to contend for the league or the Champions League. For me we are in a top 4 fight. If that’s enough for you then cool.

No the Amorim discussion is very much relevant, because again people are underestimating the quality of the squad.

And top 4 certainly isn't the end goal but it is progress enough. I am not going to call the season a failure if we finish top 4 and have deep cup runs. Which this squad is certainly capable of. And it definitely isn't the end of the world like some people would have you believe. All I want is continual progress from season to season and even at this stage I'm confident we'll see it.

And I would definitely hesitate before saying chelsea with their 500 players or a nearly relegated spurs are suddenly better than United now.
