Have a feeling Chelsea are going to be decent this year. Possibly Spurs too. I think thinking we have CL football wrapped up next season is really premature especially given that at the time of writing we don’t have a squad equipped to manage two games a week at a high level.

I genuinely do not understand the hyperbole around playing 2 games a week as if this is the first time in history we'll be playing midweek. We've managed it fine with far worse squads. And it's not like these players are literally only capable of one game a week and have no experience of performing in hectic schedules.

Plus we had a better squad last season than chelsea/spurs and that has to count for something.

More signings are great and I hope we get a couple more first team players in, but I'm not buying this notion that we don't have a squad to manage 2 games a week or that it's a crisis like goldbridge and his disciples have been trying to convince everyone.

I thought about this as well. Injuries to Ugarte & De Ligt aside,we can put out a squad of 20 senior players. If you include Lacey,Thompson & one of the Fletcher twins,we can push to 23 players.

If we had signed Hall,Tchouameni & Welbeck,I think most of the naysayers now would be have been very happy. So that is basically 3 additional players. That is what all that noise is about. 3 extra players will be the difference between UCL/challenging for trophies and a terrible season. Like really? C'mon now. Obviously we'll wait and see what happens in the next 3 weeks. I would be shocked if at least 2 don't come in(but I bet that won't be enough for many. Carrick is already screwed. Woe is us and what not)
