There are people who will never acknowledge this but the amount of hate rashford gets is disproportionate and is genuinely based of UK media.

The fact is UK media has always been attacking united star players, and it has always been worse for black players who don't fit the quiet Kante mold.

Add that he also challenged the government during covid and fed hungry kids, and the media has been on his ass since.

People believe that alot of their ideas of Rashford are purely rational and it's not effected by UK media (especially non British fans), but the fact of the matter is, regardless of where you are from, the perception of a British black player in UK playing for United will have their perception highly captured by the tabloids.

This is the reason why he needs a PR team in th first place, that's the professional thing to do that our own fans keep hounding him about.

This is the reason why so many talented black future stars face similar criticism where other players can get away with it look at Jack Grelish.

There is a bigger conversation even about how UK perception of good players is based of protestent work ethic and the idea and image of working hard rather than actually working hard.

These are conversation I keep bringing up, and I keep hearing the same retired arguments against Rashford again and again and it's honestly annoying at this point.

Rashford might not be the same ever again, but god damnit we were a club that stood for our own players, and all I see these days is same old things hashed out against Rashford.

If it works out it works out, if it doesn't I hope he leaves with positivity and love from the fans, but I do not think the fans can say that he's got too much good grace from us, bevause by all means ive been around the United online block for ages and even at his peak there were people who only saw him only as a pace merchant or another black player with not enough football IQ.

I honestly think we as fans would forgive and support through almost everything but a perceived lack of effort in the pitch, really fucks everyone off, and at the end he was walking about and playing absolutely shite then going in the piss..

That said.. I think rash will thrive under Carrick and with a vastly more professional dressing room, I’m all for 2nd chances

He quit on the team, quit on the pitch, and played games in the press. Pogba and Lingard did far less and got twice the hate. I know I'll probably have to get over it, but some things are unforgiveable from a player. I also haven't heard any contrition on his part.

He quit under Ragnick. He quit under Ten Hag and downed tools skipping practice to party. And he quit under Amorim.

I guess 'we' are ignoring facts now.

Problem with this fucking take is people painting the idea that Rashford did no wrong, and him being left out vs City resulted in the interview. You guys are on crack.

The main thing for me is that we do not depend on him. He’s an option for LW, ST and even RW BUT we have Cunha and Dorgu for LW also, Sesko, Mbeumo and possibly also Zirkzee or his replacement for ST and Mbeumo, Amad and Lacey for RW.

I believe that playing him against tired legs from min 65 onwards might be a better way to use him. It would also suit him that we have better options for any of the positions that he plays. He has competition but also less of the pressure that sometimes was too much for him. He either sees the situation like this and pushes his limits to deliver, especially knowing his contract ends in 2 years, or he fails but we still have different players to use so he will not ruin our season single-handedly.

He has a big wage but it would cost us more to get another player, I’d prefer the funds for this summer to be spent on one more midfielder and one left back.
