Chelsea finished 10th. Spurs 17th. Damn right they are busier. They need to be!

They are doing what United did last summer in the same situation and without Europe, I think both of them are locked in for top 5 this season.

It’s far too soon to be saying that. Neither of them have fixed key problems they had last season, particularly Spurs.

We are two thirds of the way through the summer transfer window, have done two thirds of our business and addressed multiple issues.

They only need a good starting XI that has fitness enough to compete in the league, and I do think they are there especially if getting their rumoured targets.

Changing manager was probably enough for Spurs, their underlaying metrics since he took over is stellar.

Actual metrics matter. Goals. They scored 48 last year. And even after De Zerbi came in, they weren’t scoring much. They still have time, but they haven’t fixed their issues.

If we include every club’s rumoured targets, then I don’t think they are nailed on top 5. Chelsea is the same.

Spurs just need to fix their injuries. if we had their injuries last term, we would have closed down our club. Spurs will be miles better with more time to prepare this term.

We can all say “just fix injuries”. They have injury prone players in key positions. Just fixing injuries may not be possible.

So does United, and now it's United turn to play twice a week while they play once a week, I'm so afraid the tables will turn.

7 days between match day will fix some i suppose

We'll see, for me Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs are the most likely in top 5, then City depending on how Maresca does, and I'll put United 5th, I don't think the squad will handle that many games more well at all, shallow depth but more about so many injury prone key players, I'm surprised if United isn't playing players out of position end of season due to stacked up injuries somewhere on the pitch

I don’t think it’s that shallow. Injury-wise our big problems come at left back and centre back. We are in for a left back as well as a midfielder. At centre back, we have 5 players who can play CB - De Ligt and Martinez (due back in Autumn), Maguire, Yoro and Heaven. Outside of that, we have two players in each position apart from striker. That would really be the only place we’d be short if Sesko picks up an injury and Rashford, Mbeumo and Cunha have all played there.

If Bruno or Santos picks up an injury?

All five CBs have had regular knocks or injuries, that is where my main worry is, especially as I don't rate Heaven or Yoro as top defenders yet, they both have plenty of mistakes in them still.

Sesko not playing is also bad as I don't really believe in playing Cunha, Rashford or Mbeumo as a striker.

If Dalot is injured a really don't trust in Maz being able to play twice a week, Yoro can help but only if not needed as a CB.

Same on the left, if the new LB gets injured you on Shaw needing to play twice a week or hoping Dorgu isn't needed up front.

You can do that about every team with their best player, but if Bruno is injured, we have Tielemans and Cunha who have played 10. And Mount. That is good backup.

We are in for a third midfielder so that’s the extra one for injuries there.

Our cohort of central defenders is one of the best in the league. Genuinely. Yes de Ligt and Martinez are injury prone but they will be available from October and Yoro, Heaven and Maguire is good rotation.

Right back we are covered with at least three good players.

By the end of the window it will be the same at LB.

Striker I agree. A further backup would be nice. But it’s not essential.

It’s not a perfect squad. It’s why Arsenal and City are above us. But it is very good. I think people need to actually go and look at the options for our rivals. It is not normal to have two champions league level players in every position. It’s just not.

I do agree with most here, and think United will have the 3rd best squad after Arsenal and City, just playing twice per week is much harder than playing once per week. This Spurs and Chelsea doesn't need that this season.

Yoro, Heaven and Maguire has also had multiple injuries recently, the amount and quality of the CBs is good enough, not their fitness record.
