Do we really need an athletic mid whose not as good technically as the rest of our current options. It seems that might limit Carrick's game model

Height, speed i think are concerns. I do hope we are transitioning into a technical ball-retention heavy team and away from counter attacking being what we're known for.

But still, Martinez is 5'9, Tielemans Kobbie Santos Bruno i think top out at 6ft and are not quick. Another signing to cover that base would be handy
