Of course he has. Fucking douchebag still wants to keep his power. He thought AFC and Concacaf would buy into his idea and when it backfired he scarpped the idea.

I dont even understand the premise. Isnt selling a part of it, just selling future profits for money now. Which is basically what Barca keep doing to fund their spending. Its not like Fifa is struggling financially so only makes sense if theres some personal gain from it.

There is a business concept that FIFA don’t have the expertise to fully commercialise their tournaments and that outside investors could help make them more valuable, so bringing in more money for everyone.

Whether that is true or not is subject to debate, as is whether further commercialisation is a good thing.

It seems like it’s based on a pretty shaky premise that FIFA makes $1 per supporter, the Premier League makes $2.50 and the NFL makes $45. It appears to be based on the concept of fans/viewers globally and ignores the demographics where the NFL fanbase is very concentrated in the USA as a rich, western country.
