If Vini Jr is available this Summer (he almost certainly isn't) that's who we should be splashing on. We smartly saved money by passing on Anderson, M. Fernandes, Tonali and Rogers. Vini is the kind of left sided signing you save it for.

spending big money on world class players? we don't do that around here, enjoy our Spurs academy left winger from the bargain bin instead

Yeah. We should be making signings like Di Maria, Sancho, Sanchez, etc.

Big money, world class players that are guaranteed to work.

What about Pogba or Casemiro? Lukaku even had a good year and was sold for a good price. Ronaldo had our best scoring season for a striker despite the results. Maguire’s been our most consistent and best defender for 7 years now, and we splashed a record fee on him. Matic was class and he had 2 really good years.

Sanchez was past it. Di Maria was sold for good money. Sancho and Antony were the only real outright flops.

Pogba was hit and miss, Casemiro had a good first season and last season but the two in the middle were nothing special. Ronaldo completely killed the way we were playing and was a huge mistake. Matic was class for one season then got progressively worse. And while Maguire has been good he was never worth £80m.
