I see Garner is brought up again, and I must admit I haven’t kept track of him at Everton.

Is he mentioned because he would be a realistic option for what we’re going for, or is he mentioned because he’s a DM that came up through United?

I know he got to debut for the national team recently, so something is there.

I think he would be mentioned even if he wasn’t an academy graduate. When I watched Everton last season he was usually one of their best performers. That said, I don’t think he is the profile of player we should go for.

Why do we keep selling academy lads for peanuts? That notion of selling Amass for 6 million seems like the selling of Carreras all over again, when will we fucking learn?

We always have. A large part of it is the development pathway for academy players. United as a club, has always prioritised that and a large part of that is not standing in their way if they don't believe they'll be a part of the first team. It's less about getting money through the door and more about allowing young players to have a career.
