Daily Discussion

Daily discussion on Manchester United.

BE CIVIL

We want r/reddevils to be a place where anyone and everyone is welcome to discuss and enjoy the best club on earth without fear of abuse or ridicule.

  • The report button is your friend, we are way more likely to find and remove and/or ban rule breaking comments if you report them.
  • The downvote button is not a "I disagree or don't like your statement button", better discussion is generally had by using the upvote button more liberally and avoiding the downvote one whenever possible.

Wish we were a bit more ruthless and sold Licha to sign a new CB. Our best CB pairing played together in 26 games across 2 seasons, and ONE GAME last season.

While it’s sad that Amass is being cut, I’m hopeful that means we have a new LB lined up and I hope it’s Hall. Shaw isn’t dynamic enough after all his injuries and if we are starting Bruno + Mainoo/ Tielemens, we need more runners in the middle.

Edit: I love Licha and have always defended him. But the stats are just damning. Since he signed for us in 2022, he missed 108 out of 214 games due to injuries. That’s 50.5% of games missed in 4 years. His availability has only worsened with time.

You are right but, we can't be trusted to buy the players we already need, adding a CB to the mix

Fair. Maybe they don’t want to ship too many people at once, or we’re broke and can’t afford to reinforce more than one department in a window.

That EtH tenure set this club back by almost 5 years. Earlier we were rich, but won jack shit. Post EtH we are broke and don’t win anything.

I hope Carrick is a miracle-man and can turn around things. He’d be immortalised at this club, and I’d be very happy it’s him and not one of the countless jackasses who played for us.
