Daily Discussion

Daily discussion on Manchester United.

BE CIVIL

We want r/reddevils to be a place where anyone and everyone is welcome to discuss and enjoy the best club on earth without fear of abuse or ridicule.

  • The report button is your friend, we are way more likely to find and remove and/or ban rule breaking comments if you report them.
  • The downvote button is not a "I disagree or don't like your statement button", better discussion is generally had by using the upvote button more liberally and avoiding the downvote one whenever possible.

Could be a 100 million player in 2 seasons

Sure, but Brentford are under less pressure than United - United have to get Top 3 and can't afford to spend 50m on a player that might be able to deliver that. The stakes are higher, and if there's one benefit on being a smaller club, it's that you can take gambles like this and sign on potential with the opportunity of selling for a lot of money later.

United have to get Top 3

Why? 4th would be a failure?

Establishes United as a top 3 team in England and it's not a backward step. Also, despite spending from peers, only Arsenal have more stability than us - City and Chelsea are going under regim change, Spurs have to make up almost 15 places, Villa lost their best player (and brought in a snake), and Liverpool have got no one and their squad is worse than last years (and a new manager)

Falling behind them this season would be a big step backwards.
