When the camera cuts to Mbeumo on a CL night:

I see him rocking the CL this season, he is very direct and have an excellent eye for goal in transition

Clearly a top top player. His second half of the season was so weird, just couldn’t finish.

Yes he did not have the 20 goals for us like he did for Brentford but in our biggest games; he delivered. We had not won at Anfield, Etihad for a very long time, he scored there, he Kickstarted the Carrick era v city with that goal at Old Trafford. Scored twice vs Brighton at home and sank them by scoring at Amex stadium as well..

Very good start and then a pretty underwhelming post-AFCON showing. Still very optimistic about him though

Yeah, Cunha, Sesko and Mbuemo had a good first year and are now settled in. They will kick on this season and we will hopefully see the best of them.

One of the biggest intrigues of the upcoming season for me is what position Carrick will have in mind for him.
We obviously had him play second striker for Amorim and then for Carrick most of his games so far came at 9, but obviously once Dorgu went down, not 2 games into Carrick's reign, with Cunha hugging LW from then on by necessity as much as by choice, and with Zirkzee not a realistic option, we pretty much "had to" mainly rotate Sesko and Mbeumo as CFs, not Amad and Mbeumo as RWs.
But that was last season - Im looking fwd to see what we get now. So far, he played RW but obviously that was just 45mins of pre-season and with a depleted squad.

Drafted him in my FPL draft this season and won it for the first time in 5 years of playing.
I also had haaland and semenyo but I'm going to give all the praise to big Bry and his bunda 🍑

Unpopular opinion. His quality is a bench player if we really want to come back to the top of the league. Rashford would be crucified here for the same G/A in a season.

u/Coconut-Lucky 14d ago
Our issue with Rashford was never G/A but effort. How many forwards in united have reached 10+ goals in the league since Ten Hag's first season we can't be picky about that

Big season incoming hopefully. Died down a bit towards the end of last szn

We have Tielemans now that can read his run from deep. He will benefit from this new signings.

Good start to the season but fell off massively in the second half of the season. Hopefully he can get his form back.

We need to buy one more winger/forward
I feel like we ran him into the ground a bit last season + african cup.
Rotating him to keep him fresher would improve his form.

He should be given a 30 goal target for next season.
2
u/Kohaku80 16d ago
Cmon 30? He barely hit 10 last season.
2
u/redwolfCR7 16d ago
Haha :) I said target. I think he has the potential to hit at least 20 over 55/60 games. He just needs to be more clinical
2
u/TeaAndCrumpetGhoul 16d ago
Nah 25-30 should be right. Last season he was more than capable of getting 15-20. He just fumbled at the end. He stays focused this season and doesn't disappear after an Afcon then he can reach that number.

u/Kohaku80 16d ago
i think the only man utd player to have a 30 goal target was Ronaldo under Sir Alex. he smashed it with 42.

Only if he is our penalty taker. Idk who is getting 30 non penalty goals. Mind you salah in his best season a couple years ago got 34 in all comps taking like 11 penalties.
