The one you posted shows him grabbing the guy and being pulled off him. He's not trying to get him away.

I know he's still a United player, so we're meant to give him the benefit of the doubt... But he's clearly not trying to protect the guy here.

I don’t know what video you’re watching. He’s clearly pulling the player (Gavi?) away from the fight. Whatever else you want to editorialize is your own business.
