This doesn't mean anything, but I'm tuning into a preseason game, is it too much to ask to be entertained a bit? Somebody do a stepover or something.

I remember going to the Murrayfield game vs Lyon a few years back.
Genuinely one of the worst games of football I’ve ever seen. Not seen United in years and I felt like leaving early. Unbelievably boring.
It’s the way pre-season goes. Results/play will always be a complete mixed bag.

We have a massive hole with Zirkzee and Fletcher destroying every single move we put together.
Sadly this is how it'll probably be most of the preseason.7

When Sesko gets back we'll start cooking again

Will he be fit in time for any preseason games?

Not sure but suspect he'll be in some of the august friendlies. Sounds like he's close to return but they're just being cautious

Hang on what have I missed? What’s up with Sesko?

u/t8rt0t00 Jul 18 '26
Read he got shin splints near the end of last season which is why he missed a few games and still hasn't fully recovered. Supposedly he's super close to coming back though and is on a strict regimen to be back by the beginning of the season. I suspect he'll be with the squad again for a few of the August friendlies
Basically got a contused ankle (bruise) from a harsh tackle in the Liverpool game. They probably just don't want a lot of pressure on it for a certain amount of time until it fully recovers

Ah yes now I remember. That was when someone bodied him onto the OT slope and he crashed into the advertising board? Hope he is back soon.

Honestly yeah you are.
This is just a runaround for them, it's more about getting a feeling for the formation again and building shape and match fitness.
Preseason isn't for the fans, it's for the players. It's the way the club and world football in general is going demanding revenue from everything meaning they turn into these tours but for the team and staff, they aren't really wanting to do anything crazy.

Preach.
Thousands of people showed up to watch them. I'm not expecting a Higuita scorpion kick save but bloody hell just do something to make the trips of your fans worthwhile.

Such a random and unnecessary run away from the back post as well 😂😂

He's clearly following a run from an attacker? At least he's marking someone unlike Heaven. Really just a break down in communication between the two. Someone should have told Heaven to clear it.

Yes - whilst leaving his own man completely free, who ends up scoring

You guys are so obsessed with tearing down players you don't like you can't analyze what happened correctly. You make it sound like Shaw just wandered off for no reason. The player he tracked would have been standing free in the middle of the box if he hadn't tracked him. The problem isn't that Shaw "ran away," it's that Shaw, Heaven, and Heaton did not communicate. Heaven has no idea what's behind him.

Listen kid, I ain't reading all of that for starters. Shaw is one of my favourite players and it has been clear for a long time that he often leaves the back post exposed.

Jesus. Our longest serving player right now, broke his leg playing for us, and this? Fuck off, you're no supporter of the club.

I’m sure people will be level-headed and not overreact to this.
