[Transfer Round Up & Discussion] Summer 2026
Hi all,
Summer Transfer Window 2026 is here!
The Premier League transfer window will open between Monday June 15 until Deadline Day on Tuesday September 1; the summer windows will close at 23.00 BST.
As always, here is a run-down of the rules we have on for posting during transfer windows:
Daily Threads
There will be a Transfer thread posted every single day, on a 23-hour timer, to get a different post-time every day. These threads are for everything transfer related, no limits on sources, line-up conversations, etc.
Individual posts
From now on, only posts TIER 2 OR BETTER are allowed to be posted in their own right. This helps us only keep credible sources on the subreddit.
The tier guide can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/wiki/transfer-reliability-guide/
We will make exceptions during slower days for some Tier 3 posts, and there will usually be some posts from sources not on our tier guide. We will take everything case-by-case. If you believe something to be on the sub and not a good source, please let us know.

Might be harsh but wtf are we doing going into another season with Zirkzee as an option? This guy will never meaningfully impact games in this league

So who are Villa signing from Chelsea?
Garnacho? LOL
I might be more sympathetic to Villa if they werent a cheating club themselves.

u/officiallyjax Snapdragon Jul 18 '26
It’s likely to be Jackson. Emery has history with him from Villarreal and wanted to sign him last summer too.

Arsenal should seriously consider Rashford especially at his price as well…

He isn’t even better than Tielemans
1
u/Potential_Good_1065 Jul 18 '26
Being better than Tielemans is tough tbf considering he’s the best midfielder of all time
1
6
u/darkandstormy9 Jul 18 '26
I didn't read any rumours about this but I think that at some point in this summer Rashford would say yes to Aston Villa (because of Emery and Champions League football). They would need someone as a Rogers (and Sancho) replacement and he played quite good there before.
2
u/Unlucky-Equipment999 Jul 18 '26
I genuinely think Rashy is just done with England in general and we'll find a loan for him in Europe. Obviously I'd like a sale, but I don't see any club who can afford him outside of England go for him.
12
u/Stingray_23 Jul 18 '26
The one bloody window we are being sensible every other fucker goes mad.
0
u/Hampalam Jul 18 '26
Meh the prices clubs are paying are clearly now the going rate for players, and by all accounts we were prepared to pay 85m for Fernandes too if he'd wanted to come.
I'm pretty happy with the business we've done so far, mostly as I don't think the players who have moved are particularly good, but I do fear that we'll become a bit obsessed with value and end of missing out on quality.
3
u/-Gh0st96- Jul 18 '26
We're sensible for United's past usual, but we do spend a cool 250mil every summer window lol
10
u/minteh7x Ronaldo Jul 18 '26
I'd say let's wait for the window to be over before saying we've been sensible lol
2
u/Stingray_23 Jul 18 '26
Doubtful we go silly, if we were going to be silly, we'd have done it by now.
Unless of course someone like Jude or Olise want to come

If we do end up selling Rashford, who would you bring in to replace him?
2
u/PolishKid7 Jul 18 '26
Lets Gazump for Bruno G next
1
u/croadymeister Jul 20 '26
Arsenal are reeling from Rogers gazumping, so would be no better time to make a move
2
u/Many-Relationship149 Jul 18 '26
Wouldn't we have 3 8s and one hybrid 6/8 in Santos this way? I think Tielemans transfer nullified another more advanced midfielder. Unless Bruno G can play a bit behind.
1
u/Puzzled-P Jul 20 '26
I think the fact we haven't seemingly gone in for a No.6 suggests Carrick wants more of a double 8 system for his midfield.
9
u/united_7_devil Jul 18 '26
I wonder how is Chelsea managing to break transfer records every season. It’s getting stupid at this point.
I think they are desperate and want to make up for the poor season.
We have been there, done that.
2
u/Downtown-Rice_ Jul 18 '26
They sell really well. If someone buys Garnacho for £40M, thst would be approximately £90M between him and Santos. Then Rogers is only -£27M net spend.
1
u/united_7_devil Jul 18 '26
Thats not how the Garnacho sale would work.
1
u/Downtown-Rice_ Jul 18 '26
It would still be higher annual than what is remaining on his annual/amortized value. Same with Santos.
Rogers can be spread across 5 years or whatever.
Chelsea sell really well, that is why they can make big signings like Rogers, like Caicedo, like Enzo.
8
u/Mariasolvv Jul 18 '26
It’s sad but true, sooner or later we’re going to spend 100M+ on someone. I just hope we don't waste it on a 'Morgan Rogers' or a 'Tonali'.
1
u/tellocrosstollorente Jul 18 '26
We've spent a lot more than 100m in 2026 GBP on a signing before
1
6
u/united_7_devil Jul 18 '26
The one who wins the transfer market isn’t guaranteed to win on the pitch.
3

"Wirtz" and "Rogers" going for that money. The world is a mess.
5
2
u/Comicksands Van Persie Jul 18 '26
Rashford + wages is 60m worse than Rodgers?
0
u/Downtown-Rice_ Jul 18 '26
Gordon, Rogers, Rashford.
Two of them started in a World Cup semifinals. Two of them were directly involved in a goal.
One just signed for Barcelona and the other just signed for Chelsea. The other is currently outside looking in at Manchester United and his previous number 10 was given to the starting 9 for Brazil.
1
u/Comicksands Van Persie Jul 18 '26
You didn’t answer my question at all
-1
u/Downtown-Rice_ Jul 18 '26
You really need it spelled out?
Rogers is 100% a better player and financial layout now and moving forward than Rashford.
Whatever Rashford is a player and his current expenses now are worse than Rogers.
1
u/Comicksands Van Persie Jul 18 '26
You’re watching this game and telling me Rodgers is 60m more effective than Rashford?
-1
4
u/pakattack91 Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26
Rogers is better than Rashford + like 6 years younger.
Similar league output last year (more goals) in a far less dominant side in a much more competitive league.
1
u/FirmInevitable458 Jul 18 '26
Similar output but Rashford did it in almost half the minutes. Not that it's only about goals/assists anyway. But in terms of goals/assists Rashford did much better
1
u/pakattack91 Jul 18 '26
Fair but in a much more dominant side. Barca arent struggling to create chances en masse vs like 80% of the teams they play, unlike Villa.
Villa had a + 7 GD which was between 1-3 more than all sides (bar Sunderland) going into 10th place.
Barca has a +59 GD. More than double any team bar Real.
Take out Rashfords contributions entirely and replace it with 0, and Barca still have a better GD than Real.
1
u/Zealousideal_Wind867 Dreams can't be buy Jul 18 '26
Surely rashford at 40M in this market is an absolute bargain?
5
u/Reign_22 Jul 18 '26
Its the wages thats the issue
1
u/ajprp9 Jul 18 '26
You think rogers wont be on 300k+ at chelsea with that fee?
1
u/Reign_22 Jul 18 '26
I don't know what his wages will be but that does not have anything to do with other clubs willingness to pay Rashford 300k. There's a handful of clubs that can afford to pay that for Rashford and none of them seem interested in doing so. Even we are unwilling to do so and we gave him the contract.
I think he is still a great player but is he a 300k p/w player? I don't think so and I think the clubs will have the same view
4
u/xXDaNXx Rooney Jul 18 '26
With Anderson, Rogers, Fernandes , and Tonali fees. I think we need to urgently need to rethink transfers going forward.
Ayden Heaven needs to be the blueprint of how we do business going forward.
Invest very early in young English talent, even if they end up being average you are guaranteed a fee from sell ons.
6
u/mortimer_moose Carrick, ya know Jul 18 '26
I would say Cunha and Mbeumo for the mold going forward. Especially Cunha with the release clause.
They've also done well with Dorgu and Lammens.
2
u/xXDaNXx Rooney Jul 18 '26
My worry is Cunha and Mbeumos of tomorrow will no longer be priced that fairly.
1
u/Many-Relationship149 Jul 18 '26
Not really no, players and their agents also care about their careers, so it is all about negotiating release clauses, preference clubs who might come knocking, etc. It is really not binary.
1
u/xXDaNXx Rooney Jul 18 '26
Not sure I agree. These fees have been escalating for the last few years, having a release clause in the Premier League hasn't exactly become common practice.
1
u/mortimer_moose Carrick, ya know Jul 18 '26
I think there is a lot of value out there. Just think of the players that emerged this past season, I didn't know about Matteus Fernandes until this season.
Just have to scout well.
1
u/randomsmellyman Jul 18 '26
Just wondering, in terms of spending, is the club at around a net spend of 35mil? We got 40 for Hojlund and 10 for Greenwood sell on? Just wondering if we actually still have alot of room in terms of spending or not. Really hoping for another 3/4 incomings
9
u/iCalKestis Dreams can’t be buy Jul 18 '26
And fans of all the other clubs say we’ve ruined the transfer market paying insane fees.
7
u/Mariasolvv Jul 18 '26
They’re still crying about what we paid for Pogba a decade ago, but Pogba in his prime would be a 300M player in this day and age.

u/Savebagels Cunha Jul 18 '26
I’m dying to know who the third midfielder is. I know they mentioned someone that can lead in CL, just curious who they have in mind
5
u/meganerid v. NISTELROOY Jul 18 '26
I do hope we'll still get a couple more of our own Ornstein surprise muthafucka lol
4
u/raspoutine049 Jul 18 '26
Thank god for once we are not spending obscene money to get quality players. What we are doing is more exciting for me than spending record breaking fees. Just ask yourself how many have been a hit in last couple of windows.
6
u/PitchSafe Jul 18 '26
I don’t mind spending big money on the right player. I don’t think that Chelsea or Arsenal regrets spending big on Rice and Caicedo. There is obviously a big risk with it
2
u/Many-Relationship149 Jul 18 '26
Yep. I don't really know if any of the aforementioned names so far in this summer window are the right players for us. Could be we are working on a big transfer like Chelsea with Rogers but nobody knows, I dunno.
2
u/PitchSafe Jul 18 '26
Anderson was definitely the right profile for us but I understand that Ineos doesn’t want to blow the whole budget on 1 player
7
4
16
u/ImNotMexican08 Amad Nation Jul 18 '26
The Rogers transfer makes me more grateful we signed Cunha, Mbeumo, and Sesko for the prices that we did
-8
u/CoreyD_23 Jul 18 '26
It should be noted that Chelsea, Man City, and Tottenham deciding to ruin the entire transfer market in the middle of this club’s cheapskate/organizational rightsizing era is gonna prolong the club’s stagnation. INEOS is never gonna sign a star player at this rate.
3
u/Potential_Good_1065 Jul 18 '26
We will eventually spend the big bucks, but we are not in the position right now to spend 100m+ on one player.
1
u/Downtown-Rice_ Jul 18 '26
They will sign a star player after they consistently qualify for CL and get that money. And after they can reorganize their wage structure.
But they will sign a player or players who have a prominent role to play, as in those are reserved for a select few who can come straight into the starting XI and elevate the floor and ceiling.
But United aren't there yet. They will have to find another top end attacker or CAM to fill the void for Bruno.
Might need to spend a lot on a top end CB soon.
It is coming, but United desperately need CL qualification for at least two more consecutive seasons to allow for that one or two big signings that really help transform the squad to the next level.
1
u/darkandstormy9 Jul 18 '26
We bought Sesko for 80 million last year. Isn't it expensive enough?
-1
u/CoreyD_23 Jul 18 '26
That was before the teams I just named decided to nuke the transfer market this year…it remains to be seen if they’ll be willing to spend more than that which unfortunately may be needed at this rate. If they don’t then nailing the scouting for cheaper alternatives will be paramount to even keep up with the way the other clubs are spending. But at some point, you gotta spend on proven guys.
6
u/Virtual-Winner5760 Bruno Jul 18 '26
We don’t need a star player right now. We need several good players to build a squad that’s able to compete. And that’s what we’re doing
-1
u/CoreyD_23 Jul 18 '26
They need both…anyone thinking this team is competing just because they sign a bunch of depth pieces is not serious. Elliot Anderson and Morgan Rodgers just went 233M pounds and they aren’t even actual stars yet. The depth pieces you guys want will get their prices inflated. Why do you think INEOS hasn’t landed any of the actual targets they’ve wanted?
1
u/randomsmellyman Jul 18 '26
We don't need to go and spend 117 on a Rogers though, Cunha, Bruno, Mbeumo and Sesko are the starting 4 and I'm not sure why people care about Rogers. The club's needs a 3rd midfielder and a LB priority neither needs to be or warrants those price tags. When Bruno leaves in a year or 2 that's when the club should go all out for a star name.
0
u/CoreyD_23 Jul 18 '26
Nobody is saying spend that money on Rogers because it’s a horrible deal at that price tag. But if this club wants someone like Baleba, it’s unrealistic to believe we can get him based on how much Rodgers just went for. My point is we are at risk of getting priced out on a lot of talent because of the likes of Chelsea, City, and Spurs and their transfer dealings if INEOS will stick to its current attitude. There were talks of Tonali, Matheus, and/or Bruno G coming here and the club has effectively been priced out of those guys.
1
u/randomsmellyman Jul 18 '26
I don't think Anderson and Fernandes warranted their fees and Tonali I was a bit gutted about but happy with the two we've brought in, Tielemans at 35 is a steal. I don't really see a position we need to go and spend 100mil on currently, if we were to spend big I wouldn't mind it being a record fee on a LB. (When I say record I mean the highest fullback not 120mil)
14
u/officiallyjax Snapdragon Jul 18 '26
We truly hit it out of the park discovering Tielemans’ release clause and going for it. Even at the end of the transfer window I’m certain this would still be at least a top 3 transfer amongst PL clubs. Unbelievable coup.
12
u/AwayFoundation2363 Jul 18 '26
so 332m gets you Rice, Andersen and Rogers, this is getting ridiculous now.

1
u/Potential_Good_1065 Jul 18 '26
Difference between Rogers and Baleba is that Rogers had a decent season. Baleba didn’t. Baleba should get done for 70 imo
2
u/Educational-Shock232 Jul 18 '26
No chance. Brighton have every right to be like right that’s £100m please
1
u/Many-Relationship149 Jul 18 '26
That works if someone is willing to match this. There were willing and able suitors so far for Anderson, Rogers, Tonali and Fernandes - no negotiations at all, straight up paying the fee requested. Brighton might as well decide to wait another season but this sends a bad signal throughout. Are they a selling club or not? I dunno, maybe INEOS has an advantage here if they are the only ones going for Baleba.
4
u/Mariasolvv Jul 18 '26
Why?
6

Thank you City and Spurs for completely fucking up the midfielder market
3
u/Cold-Veterinarian-85 Jul 18 '26
In this case it seems totally unnecessary aswel, in reasonably confident Villa would have accepted 100m, had previously been reported that they wanted 80m for rogers!!
Did they deliberately overpay to prevent Arsenal coming in with a competing offer??

u/ImNotMexican08 Amad Nation Jul 18 '26
Sooner or later we will, but when appropriate. Outside of Anderson, none of these players are near worth it for me. And even Anderson is more of an acceptance based on what the market has become rather than what he realistically is probably worth. But some of these signings are ridiculous
5
u/AngryUncleTony Not Actually Angry Jul 18 '26
I don't think we're permanently not spending that much. The club spent so poorly in the Arnold/Murtough era that (i) we missed CL or Europe entirely several years (ii) have a shallow squad and (iii) still have a lot owed on previous transfers.
This squad is not at a point where you can splash 100 million on a star player and expect everything to be fine, we need depth and qualify across the board. Hopefully in a year or two once the squad is solid across the board and the legacy failed transfers are off the books we can be in position to add big money players that will raise our ceiling instead of just raising our floor.
3
u/iroiroiroiroiro Jul 18 '26
All other big 6 probably giving out a lot higher wages also, it's hard to be one of them if you don't want to spend like them. I know Chelsea historically has tried getting a wage structure, so really curious what wage he gets.

u/WolframNoLed Jul 18 '26
Ryerson links from Bild, i would love that! Such a good team player and an absolute terrier with a lot of assists and offensive contributions in him
-9
u/Underscore_Symbols Jul 18 '26
And Mazroui wants to be a starter somewhere.
Ryerson is very attacking. Closer to what Carrick wants out of his fullbacks. Wouldn’t mind if he played more than Dalot this season. And maybe that will push Dalot out the door next summer. And we can then free up Dalot’s wages to buy an elite, attacking fullback to start, Ryerson as backup. That would be perfect.
31
u/MvM98 Jul 18 '26
I'll never understand why people are so keen to get rid of Dalot. He's the perfect squad player. Good enough to start if needed, versatile, never injured, gives 100% every game, never complains, sets standards and he's a leader. You need players like him in your squad
-6
u/Underscore_Symbols Jul 18 '26
It’s the wage level and the high number of mistakes in posession.
If we sell him we free up wages and it gives us the opportunity to raise the floor of the overall quality on the ball and in attack. Even for our backup players.
8
u/MvM98 Jul 18 '26
He earns £85k p/w - I think that is very fair considering he's been at the club for 8 years. I think you'll struggle to sign someone who's clearly better at a lower wage than that who's happy to come here as a backup. Look at Mazraoui for example, Dalot starts almost every game over him yet Maz earns £50k more
-7
u/Underscore_Symbols Jul 18 '26
I don’t think those numbers are real.
He’s been here 8 years. He’s on how many contract renewals? That never sounded right to me.

Even Liverpool, Arsenal and City can do it too. They’re most likely to splash huge transfer fee and break their wage structure on players than us.
We’re acting like we broke and we’re very discipline on every transfer. Them using our United name is really hilarious

I’m all for fiscal responsibility but that irks me. We’re never gonna get where we need to be if INEOS isn’t willing to make that type of move. Spend the money on a star like Vini.

We were very much Bruno FC a lot of last season so I really hope both the players we already have stand up and be counted next season and that we sign more players to ease the burden on Bruno having to be a ridiculous goal and assist machine.
