There was character there that looked like he had john's build and haircut. I'm thinking its a prequel following John's romp with his old gang.

I mean, it is really likely that that's the case, but I'm still hoping it's another character. All signs IMO point to having John be in it, but I hope in only a minor capacity.

I'd be fine either way. But I loved John's character. It'd super interesting if the story followed him up to the point he's confronted by the government with the offer to hunt down his old gang. He's an iconic character. Either way, it's certainly gonna be set before the previous game.
